Default Can't decide; Challenger or Camaro?!?!

Ok, here is where I stand now:

I for sure want an SRT8 IF I can afford it. The SRT8 comes in at exactly $40,567 invoice, including Gas Guzzler/Detination/& options I want. I've decided I don't want the B5 blue, I want black.

If I can't afford and SRT8, my fallback will be an R/T. The R/T comes in at exactly $31,352 invoice, including Detination & options I want.

Also, if I do have to compramise and get an R/T, I will also reconsider the 2010 Camaro at that point. The 2010 Camaro RS/SS is going for $31,126 invoice, including Detination & options I want.

EDIT: I am also aware that I can get a 370Z Sport for $31,594 invoice including Detination & options I want. I've looked into that as well just to keep my options open to competition in that same price bracket. I will NOT however consider a Mustang, ever.

I currently own a 1992 Trans Am GTA and a 1993 300ZX. I'm presuming that there will be many more engine upgrades for the LS3 compared to the 6.1L HEMI as well and that in the long run I can be much faster for allot less $$$. When is Direct Injection coming to the LS engine? 2011 for the Camaro?

I think you would be crazy to buy an SRT 8 challenger for that much money when you can get in an LS3 camaro for far less, that will most likely perform better in every category. An R/T seems completely out of the question imo, I haven't driven or riden in one but every video I see that thing looks like a complete turd. Good luck with whatever you choose, this website is going to be about 100% biased towards the camaro, maybe you should post this on a dodge forum as well for mixed results.

One more for the Camaro SS. As stated it's the better performer all around, and hey do you really want a Wedge motor advertised as a Hemi?

Nor do I!!!!

if your looking to do any mods i definitely wouldnt buy the 370z... mods just arnt going to get you anything worth the money you paid for them..

I think the LS3 is also going to be more mod friendly with proven head cam combinations putting down 500 rwhp without much problems... I dont know what the SRT8 6.1 is capable of but i do know you cant go wrong with an LS3...

The Challenger is the better looking car IMO and the SRT8 has a small spiff on it right now to boot. The deals on them will only get sweeter as time goes on.

I like the srt8 but would buy the camaro over the r/t. The challanger is a better looking car then the camaro imo and performs well after suspension mods. but the r/t was beat by a stock mustang in ever catagory. The camaro looks ok but the performance is great for the price. srt8 or camaro is my vote.

I think both cars are fat pigs. They both weigh entirely too much. However, if I was handed $40K and was told I had to spend it on a car... one of them might be sitting in my garage.

Was over at the large local Dodge dealer to dyno my '99 the other day and heard about some buyers snapping up R/T's and having a certain shop (don't remember the name) build up the motor and slap it back in. They were ending up with R/T's that are more powerful/quicker/faster than SRT8's and still coming in a couple grand le$$. Just a thought.

Don't spend that kind of money on a dodge product, just to drive it off the lot and watch the dash crack in half

I currently have my 4th gen (ofcourse) but daily drive an 06 Dodge Charger.. It is an OK car, but will most likely trade it in on a new Camaro in 2011.. Get the Camaro!!

Keep in mind I've owned 7 or 8 F-Bodys, But that Challenger is dead sexy in person. I would have to see the new Camaro to give an honest opinion.
Bottom line is you can get a nice deal on a Challenger(not invoice, but nice)
I don't think your getting to great of a deal on the new Camaro, atleast not for awhile.
And as for the 370z...nice car, and not theres anything wrong with it..if your into those kinda things. But.....

Challenger looks cool, but i suspect the camaro will handle better, ride better and be just as fast if not faster for 10K less.
