Thumbs up PlanetLSX.com 2010 Camaro SS Baseline Track Results

Details:

2010 Camaro SS/RS (2SS) Link to pics
6-speed manual
100% showroom stock down to the 37 psi air in the rear tires.
I mean 100% stock. No weight removed, as-purchased.
1,200 miles on the car (2 weeks old)
4,045 lbs raceweight (half tank, and I'm 190 lbs)
Holding RPM between 3500-4000 and slipping clutch out on launch.
Powershifting (no lifting throttle between shifts) at red line (6K-6.2K)
Coolant temps 212-218F
Density Altitude was +2,301 ft (it was 96F earlier today, 88 for these passes)

Three consecutive passes (hot lapped):

13.256 @ 108.43 (2.098 60')
13.194 @ 109.62 (2.128 60')
13.070 @ 109.07 (2.057 60')

Videos will be posted later this weekend!

If I can just get a 1.9X 60' time, it will go 12s in the heat. Imagine what it would run in negative density altitude! Probably 12.70s...

I may try to go back to the track on Sunday to get a 12!

Tony

Nice! Excellent job on getting 2.0 60's. From what I have been reading most people are getting 2.2-2.4's which has been killing thier ET's. Good luck this weekend on 12's and I can't wait to see the vids.

Congrats again! Did you race at HMP again? Looks like you ran 1-2mph more than when you raced John H's car, to what would you attribute the gain in mph?

Man, that is not bad at all. I am surprised that as heavy as it is it still ran a 13.0. For comparison purposes only my old 02 WS6 A4(just as stock as your SS), slightly better air and temps (~70°) and race weight of 3660 ran a 13.411 with a 2.04 60'.
You always could shift those 6 speeds!!

They are making like 370rwhp stock, and I went 11.7 @ 3450 racweight and 370rwhp about ten years ago.

Add 600lbs to your plastic rattle can and lets hear what it runs.

Now why would he do something stupid like that?

I guess we'll leave that question up to Chevy to answer..

You're not wasting any time Tony! Let me know if you decide to start running the car in not-so-stock form.

I think you misunderstood me (and please note that Nine Ball and I have been friends and business partners for about 11 years)...

13.doh @ 109 is great for 4050 raceweight, 2300DA, on big 20" stock wheels. In comparison, we went that with LS1 cars with about 295rwhp at stock raceweight 11 years ago. And our modded 375rwhp cars were going high 11's. I was agreeing.

John I think he was bitching at GM for making the 5th gen so heavy.

Oh okay lol. I thought you were one of the short bus passengers trying to argue the 4th gens superiority of the 5th.

LOL I have 38,000 posts on here and founder next to my name.

I'm guessing in great negative DA air we'll see someone post a high 12.6 this upcoming winter. Maybe a 12.65@111 or something like that.

I predict 12.75 @ 111 may happen in negative DA weather. I don't see the weather helping as much on this car as it will on others, mostly because my best passes came as the car was running hot. Apparently the best power tables in the stock tune come from hot oil temps and 200-212F coolant temps. Cooling down to ambient may not help as much, but I suppose we shall see.

Great times Tony! Seems like those that can drive are getting consistent times in the heat with a stock car...12.9-13.1 @ 109ish

Nice Runs. How much do you think a set of ET's will drop your 60'?
