How do you think the values of the Camaros and the Firebirds will compare? If they don't bring back the Firebird I can see the value of those vehicles being a little higher than the Camaros. In the end I don't think many of the cars were made in limited enough numbers (with a couple exceptions) to be of any substantial investment value down the road. Just my $.02

The values of the firebirds are higher now than those of the camaro. Your average WS6 is higher than your average SS. Production #'s woiuld tell us the opposite, but these are just my observations.

Hi

Perhaps but it depends on the car. Some guys are speculating on say a low millage 2002 SS. I have seen a few ;ately at realy high prices. GM claims the new Camaro is going to be priced competatively with the Mustang. If so, then it will be cheap enough to push the high dollor 4th gens down in price. However, a basic 99 Z28 A4 will a few K on it, will sell for about the same price.

The Camaro better be something special, becuase I just saw a 07 GT500 Mustang run a 10.99 @ 128

http://videos.streetfire.net/video/w...38009728c3.htm

I wanted to get a new Z06, but I hate the IRS for the strip. Besides that I am more a Camaro guy so I am gonna try to hold out till the 09, but if the Camaro doesn't come with an LS7 or big cubic inch, then those Mustangs are going to own us.

It will depend on what the new Camaro is, I think.

If the Camaro eats *****, and I would NOT rule it out 4th gens will go up.
Depending on many things and other then shots in the dark no one can really say for sure. For all we know it might be such a craze people will do anything for any camaro, and 4th gens prices go up. It could be a 5th gen or bust movment as well lowering price for 4th gens.

The car shown has thousands of dollars of mods to it, not to mention a starting price that is much higher than a regular GT.....I dont think this car is meant to compete with the new Camaro.....like a one legged man at a asskicking contest. Not a competetive match up in anyway.

On a side note the commercial for the GT500 is cool....The guy takes his GT500 to Germany and when they are unloading it the dock guy says " whats wrong, you couldnt find a German car you liked ?" and the guy replies " No.....I couldnt find a speed limit I liked in America" and then it shows him blowing by porches, bmw's etc. on the autobahn. It gave me a little chubby

I ran right out and bought one, production did not stop for two more years but I’m content with mine. I have a 1978 Z28 also and I have offers constantly to buy it but I’m keeping it. Sometimes I think about selling my car for a new corvette then I go out and look at it and think I’m keeping my car I’ll just buy the vette and add to the collection.
Ditto!

Wow...its like you and I think exactly alike. Creepy Kool!

Obviously...the premium the LT1 and LS1 cars have been getting the last four years is asinine. Great for the owners...but as much as i'd LOVE to own one, i can't see paying well over the KBB price for a run of the mill f-body (ex. $7k+ for a 94-96 LT1 in good shape).

Exactly.

For example, good clean L98 3rd Gens are starting to go up in price.
Shoot, I saw a '78 Z28 locally that was listed for $5000.
I remember when you'd get laughed at for listing the asking price at more than $2000 for a clean one.

Default Hang on to them

Hang on to your LT1's and LS1's guys! Learn from the past. By all means buy a new Camaro or Challenger but do NOT trade in or sell your F-body. Make room for it, crank it up once in awhile and enjoy it for the next 25-30 years. These are like your own IRA but actually fun to own. All the late 1960's owners with clean original cars have a nice little retirement account in their garages. I regret selling my LT1 for my LS1. I should have kept it and had both. It was money in the bank. I won't make the same mistake with this one.

But in 20-30 years from now getting spare relays and other such part that will be out of production. Also who know is gas will even be around in such time, and what will you have to pay for it 10 a gallon? I know what happened to the car prices from the time past, but who knows enjoy them will you can...

There are so many factors in the future that could change the value of these cars. Like GAS will gas even be around in 20-30 years who knows and at what price will it be for? Also getting little electrical parts that will have been long out of production might prove trouble some. I know what car prices of the past have done but there have been no big changes in technology but now things are changing so who knows I say drive and enjoy them while you can....

I kind of miss my LT-1 Formula. Nothing sounds like an LT-1 running flowmaster exhast.

Our cars will never be a good investment, so mod the hell out of them and red-line every gear! If it breaks just buy another one for cheap.

HELL yEAH up up
u didnt buy the car to hold on to it, its meant to be driven! Isnt that the whole point in a car is to drive it? Who cares if the ls1 or lt1's are only worth 2 grand tommorow theres nothing you can do to change whats going to happen. Drive it and have fun with it.
