Question Price Decrease with new Camaros comming out

1. Do you feel the introduction of the new Camaros will drop the resale prices on the already made Camaros and Firebirds?

Yes, I think the 4th gens will drop in price - but that is just something that happens. One of the reasons I liked having a trans am ram air - they aint makin anymore, so they will always look new

In another 3 years, my SS won't be worth anything anyway. It will be a 7 year-old car. The new Camaro will be a pig, just like the new Mustang. Even though it will have the LS2 motor, we will be able to hang because of the weight difference.

I think these cars are going to depreciate for a while then when they get pretty old they will be expensive again like the 67-69 camaros. Nowadays they are fairly expensive if in good shape.

I think a lot of the people that thinks the 4th gens will one day appreciate is day- dreaming. We will never again see the likes of the 60's and early 70's where those cars have appreciated significantly. Unlike today, there was something special about the U.S. car culture, U.S. culture in general, and the automobile technology in that time period. Now, most cars are generic and this day and age that we live in is really nothing special. Therefore, the only fuel injected cars you'll see appreciating will probably be the low-volume exotics (and I'm not talking about the Z06).

I think it's that but more the fact that they don't have to pass emissions.

I have to disagree. Look at the fox Mustangs, their price is very slowly going up.

JB makes a good point- CLEAN Fox-body cars do pretty well, and they are drying up. The main reason I don't mod the hell out of my car, is that it just might retain a good part of it's value.

If the new one does well it COULD Increase the 4th gen price. People who can't afford to buy a new Camaro can still get a Camaro by buying a 4th gen. The increased exposure the new Camaro will get will put CAMARO back on peoples mind. Also people will be more willing to buy a car that is still being produced. Just my 2 cents

The price will decrease for 4th gens, if i had the money i'd buy one in 09, who knows by the time i graduate i might. But i'll be more than happy with mine for the next few years even if it is 8 years old right now, i like it!
