Sell the 4th gen for the new Camaro?
Personally it took a long time for the new Camaro to grow on me (it still could use a more attractive grill), and even now, I still feel funny calling it a Camaro, given it is so different from the last generation, totally different platform and lack of t-tops weren't the highlights.
Personally, I'm keeping my LS1... forever, even if I do get a new Camaro

But for those that don't have deep wallets (or value their money) buying it the moment it comes out isn't the best financial decision.

i'd sell mine and start building some new memories with the new beast
or you could sell just the body and drop your current engine into the newer car(only if you bought a v-6) but if you were to get a v-8 you could still do that so now maybe 40 yrs from now your car would bring in some big numbers

I voted no. Keep your old cars. The ones you've grow-up with, spent all your time and energy with.
Chances are you won't though. Marriage, a house, kids, bills, college, stuff, toys, a retirement place all will put a bump in your plans.
Being old I wish I had kept some of the old stuff. But you still have memories, pictures, and stories. Perhaps somewhere along the journey you'll learn something.

Its going to be VERY hard for me to pull the trigger on a 5th gen for the following reasons.
1. The High HP SS you know will be every bit of $35-40,000. Hell maybe more the 02 was $34,000ish
2. Go drive a HEAVY GTO and if the new Camaro rides/handles anything like that dull unconnected feeling car I will NOT buy a 5th gen. I swear you feel like your driving a regular car (the Mustang sorta feels like this too) vs. driving a rocketship "driver's" car like the F-body's. I got rid of my 04 GTO for a low mile 00 SS because of this, its was SOOOOO BORING to drive. You can feel the weight, the body rolls like crazy, etc.
3. IRS, if this car has IRS I will not buy it. Again like the GTO it sucks beyond imagination. You can't hook worth ****, wheel hop your *** off unless you ride the **** out of the clutch out of the hole.
I don't think you'll see too much price change on the 00-02 cars that are kept nice with under 60k miles. They are the budget hotrods and as more GMPP HP parts come out for the newer stuff (all of this stuff will work on LS1s) you'll see them stay in demand. Sorta like the 5.0 mustangs how they stayed popular till the LS1 came out.

The Camaro's looks still don't match my SOM WS6.
I liked the ride of my 04 GTO I handled nearly as well as the TA, but without the harshness or annoying rattles. (Mileage might have been a factor).
The IRS sucked to launch with though...

I was thinking of selling it and getting a new Camaro, but after thinking about it for a few days I realiced that what I really want is an older muscle car from the late 60's early 70's. I have a few in mind Chevelle, Olds 442, 1st get camaro, 67 impala, or 67 GTO. But Im going to get one that is already restored in really good condition and intead of getting a loan for a new mustang Ill get it for a really sweet 60-70's muscle car

I bought my current white 00 SS 6sp convt, like two years ago. I was about to put that STS system on it when I heard the new camaro is coming out. I really wasn't sure about the looks of it when I first saw it. But now after seeing it in videos driving on street, I'm dying until it comes out now. It seems such a large leap than anything right now as far a car designs go. So I haven't done anything to my car, its just going to be sold or traded in. With my car and cash I'll have a little over 20k for downpayment. I'll need as much cash as possible because I'm holding out for topdog 2010 SS convt "hopefully" supercharged. Also on my radar is maybe a used viper or C6 vette. No kids so maybe a viper or vette could be a ***** gettin machine especially where I live, I've only seen two vipers ever driving around.
