come out with a LS5?
or put the new motors that are coming out in 2010?
the "high output" v8 will have direct injection....

More concerned about the base engine since more base engine Camaro's will sold than SS. Think over the years the slow *** engines GM stuck into this car? Some of the V6's and V8's were nearly worthless. To compete the base engine needs to have two cams. My nod goes for the new engine in the Equinox SS with a six speed auto. 265 hp. bunches of low end torque

i dont remember gm sticking any slow *** engines in there cars pretty much every gm car has one of the biggest and most horespower you can have in its class. every camaro and t/a had a bigger more powerfull motor than anything it was competeing with.
LS3 base V8 (that would put it just ahead of the GT if it gets it's planned rumored bigger/more powerful engine.
LS8 for the Z-28/SS (SS w/ a couple more psi
)I'd be adding another SS to my garage if i'm right. (even if it just got a standard LS8)

really all thirdgens were turds powerwise... the V6 motors generally sucked, and the V8s were mostly gutless 305s.
moving on to the LT1 years.. the V6 still sucked for awhile..
its only in recent years, starting around the late 90s, that GM powertrain got their act together and started making great motors... until then, GM kinda rested on their laurels while the rest of the world slowly caught up and then passed them by.

but the 2nd gen t/a had a 455 making over 400 from the factory but was rated at 290. just shows that b/c there rated low dosnt make it low.
