Default Rear end gear

I was just comparing the specs of the 5th gen to the 2009 Challenger. Both get the TR6060 M6 with similar gear ratios, but the big difference will be in the final gear ratio. SS gets 3.45's and Challenger gets 3.92's. The Camaro should still beat it, but those gears will keep the Challenger closer. I hope the gears in the Camaro are easily changable like 4th gens. I'll be throwing 4.10's in mine right away.

I loved the 3.42 in my car. Didnt even change it after all my mods. I liked having longer pulls in between gears for two reasons. 1...im not the greatest driver in the world and 2 every time I shifted the damn car it would go all over the place even at 80mph. I ended up in a tree 2 weeks after having it finished and tuned. She needed some suspension and better tires for sure. I was a roll racer If I had a chance lol.

The entire Challenger model range is in production right now and you can build one on Dodge.com

http://www-5.dodge.com/vehsuite/ModelSelector.jsp

2009 CHALLENGER R/T F Pkg. $29,320
Destination Charge $675
Dark Slate Gray Interior $0
Inferno Red Crystal Pearl Coat $0
6-Speed Manual Transmission and Track Pak $995
MSRP As Configured: $30,990

That's a damn good price for that car. I love the styling and I like the interior too. Visually aside from the Brembos, hood stripe and wheels it's no different than the SRT8 inside and out.

I'm pretty sure the Camaro SS base price won't be too far off. For GM's sake anyway.

I was thinking about that on the way home today. I checked to see what the GTO guys used and some of them swapped to a 3.91 gear.

a 3.91 was actually the biggest gear you could fit in the GTO's rear.

hopefully the camaro isn't limited like it was

3.91's are fine. If that is as big as the new M@RO takes it will be just fine with.

I can deal with only 3.91's, should equate to about what my 3.73's in my 4th gen is like. I hope the 5th gen will accept 4.10's though.

With the first gear difference between the T56 and the T6060 the 3.91 will be fine. The gearing of first already makes it like having 3.73s in a 4th gen with just the 3.45s.

True, but I wasn't really looking at the T56 vs T6060. Both the Camaro and Challenger get the T6060 with similar gear ratio's for 1st-6th. But the Challenger gets the much more stout 3.92 final drive gear. We'll have a weight advantage over SRT's, and a HP advantage over R/T's. I just hope the Camaro's diff can be changed out with a shorter gear too really blow their doors off .
