It's a left over 2019 that they were trying to get rid of. It's awesome, but the issue is that it's kind of boring unless you are really breaking the law. For any type of responsible street driving you're using such a small percentage of its capabilities that your begging for some fast sweepers or something. It's like go faster ****'s in regular cars.
This bitch plants power in a way that a Fbody can only dream of. Also holy chit is this tranny leaps and bounds better than a T56. I always appreciated that a T56 could support a good bit of power, but hated how it downshifts. This 6061 or whatever it's call will go from say 6th to 3rd as easy as say an old T5 (T5 didn't have a 6th but you get the point) in a Foxbody. It doesn't try and block you from down shifting multiple gears at a time.
I didn't like the 19 design when it first came out but its grown on me some. IMO the only 19 SS I really like the looks of is the 1LE. I think it's the black hood/mirrors/splitter/spoiler kind of helps set the blacked grill/bumper off. It kind of looks like a new Charger. (or at least they both have blacked bumpers to blend into the grill) IDK if I like the looks better than the 2017/18, but I don't like it much if any less. I will say I'm not big on the bowtie (flowtie in this case) in the middle of the bumper. I like how it looks overall though.
This is a badass car. Its frontend is so planted and willing to rotate. I enter a corner thinking I'm going to push it some and it just rotates thru it almost effortlessly. My 02 SS had Koni SA shocks, BMR springs, Hellwig anti-swaybars, MWC SFC's, Founders LCA's and PHB, running the Cooper tires that have the 200 treadwear rating and if a corner that at 60 MPH was pushing hard in the 02 this car takes at 70 MPH like its not even working. I'm still working up to trying to find this cars limits. One thing about it is it doesn't just communicate to you that it's a great handling car you just start pushing it and it just effortlessly gets thru turns that you think are going to challenge the car. Sort of deceiving to be honest. You don't think it's going to be as good as it is, and it just keeps gripping and gripping.
Nice car...throw a Whipple or Magnuson on it and hold on!!
Lol. Would be entertaining for sure. Still I want to keep this thing N/A. I think about 500-550 WHP would be perfect for this car. I know you can get there with a N/A LT1 but what can you make N/A with a stock cam on pump? Say full boltons, an MSD intake, and a tune? Also do LT's and aftermarket C/B's add noticeably performance? What kind of weight saving will a full aftermarket exhaust general net you over the OEM pieces? How do these motors perform with a 4" crank?

Lol. Thanks. Yeah I got married going on 2 years ago. I don't get into cars like I used to. Also got my first kid coming in April.

Yeah they are impressive. The issue with it is you have to push it to really appreciate how good this chassis is, and other than quick accelerations pushing it mean breaking some laws, and driving very irresponsibly on the street. From what I'm reading is the GEN6 Camaros are setup to do no-lift shifts, but I haven't tried it. If you delve into the computer you can really customize its drive mods, and steering weights, etc. IMO the default steering setting in track mode is on the heavy side. It makes the car feel less willing than it is IMHO. Driving in track mode with the steering in tour mode seems to be popular from what I'm seeing.
The TR6060 (if that's what that is), shifts really nicely. No doubt about it. That's one of the best things about them and one of the few things I like over the Mustangs. The MT-82 is a piece of crap. It shifts better in the newer cars than it used to, but it doesn't even shift half as well as a T-56. As for the looks of the car, they've grown on me, but the car has to be the right color, etc. for it to look good in my eyes. Bubba truck red doesn't quite do it for me. These cars look best in blue or black as far as I'm concerned.
