Alright today i was giving my friend a ride out to the PX so me could go shopping. Hes 49yrs old and his son totaled his 04 Cobra and hes looking into a new sports car he said.

Hes been telling me for a while i have a good looking car as usual i just say thanks dude. I got a 00 special edition z28 it looks like an RS has the ground effects on the side and on the back. and its a midnight blue with t-tops.

Well when i gave him a ride today he was mentioning how solid it felt compared to his Cobra so i let him behind the wheel for a min or 2 and he fell in love with the car.

He mainly loved the leg room, lether bucket seats, black/tan interior and the Seat folding down how it dose in the back.

He said hes gonna start looking around for F-bodys when he goes home to CA. So ive done well today i also explained why the LS1 was surperior to the 4.8L supercharged as well as our solid rear axle . Yet another guy falls victem to a F-body. Enjoy.

Im adding a lip for the front end as soon as i find one that will look good with my RS package. The front looks a little to plain to me. The back lip i dont see on any other camaros except the RS same with the ground effects ive only seen 1 other Camaro z28 with them but he ruined it by putting 22's and it sits way to high to get a the look you get with my stock 16's

My first v8 was a 1997 cobra......doesnt even compare to my 99 T/A .... not even one bit!!!!.......not even a grain of rice......a grain of sand.....i would kill anyone who would hurt my car.....my ws6 is my baby!!!!

Also, the 4V has alot of potential, and when an LS1 can handle 800rwhp on a stock bottom end. Come talk to me.

 

haha nice, but yea its a 4.6 supercharged, its Navy blue metallic (not midnight blue), and its not a special edition because it has ground effects (its just an appearance package, plenty of Z/28's came with them) also, just for the sake of argument... I'd never let someone drive my car. LOL


PS I love LS1's as much as the next guy, but going from a 03-04 cobra to a f-body, would be a downgrade

Also i guess i was lied to lol but o well. and i keep forgetting becouse my friend had a 2004 mach 1 with a 4.8 badge on the side. i get fords confused easy. I know if it looks new and has a snake im done for....

Did his Mach1 have motor work? Bore? Stroke job?

All SN95's came with a 5Ohhh, 4.6 and a 5.4 N/A for the 00 Cobra R

 

And also it had to be an 03-04, no such thing as an 05 Mach 1.

 

4.6 DOHC > LS1 I love the cars, but Cobras are legit.

 

um.....the supercharged cobras arnt DOHC .....and hell no the regular cobra engines arnt better than an ls1

 

I have the body kit... and I'm not special edition lol. but anyway yeah I'm agreeing with the posters above, LS1s are amazing and everything but The SC cobras/termies are amazing and must be respected. Maybe he had an older model cobra instead? Also if my son ever totaled one of my dream cars... He would be off to camp, and not a fun camp will it be.

Hes a Special Forces guy he got his insurence check for 18,000 and bought a nice truck.
Hes way to laid back to care about to much now a days.

Also the post who siad regular cobra motors are better then an ls1? i ran aginst my friend in w.a both bone stock cars a 97 cobra vs my z28 and i put 2 cars on him the 1st run 2nd dident count due to his miss shift. then we did a run after i bought new toyo proxes 4's and i put 3 cars on him easy. (it was raining all 3 runs)

Also i though all cobra motors were dohc even the supercharged ones. Wow i need to stop studying the stock market and start looking into stuff like this lol.

Yes sir they are, there are 4 cams in the motor 2 per head. AKA DOHC. Being a huge 4.6 guy for years, the DOHC 4.6 vs the LS1 is neck and neck.

Both having strong blocks and cranks with weak pistons. Both heads flow around the same stock and ported. So either one will build a mean SOB and slap a turbo on it and get a custom cam or cams, and its how much power you want and where you want it.

Personally i like the 99+ interior of the stang more than a f-body. And the cobras and machs are even nicer inside. Doesnt have all the gaps, misalignments of my vett.

And all american cars rattle f-bodys, vetts, and stangs. I would pick a 03-04 cobra over a f-body anyday. Over a z06... id have to think about that one. Pro depend if i needed the extra room in a cobra.


(< owner of fox bodys, 99+ stangs including 03 cobra, now proud owner of 2001 C5 and love the damn car.)

 

The guys got money though im trying to tell him a 06+ Z06 would treat him better then any girl hes ever been with.

Trust me i know. I lied to a dealership to test drive one. 180 mph later the guy **** his pants in fear.
