Trust me that was not idiot talk. Gutted cats are better that clogged cats. **** my friend had the same problem but didn't have any money at them time, so yes gutting the cats is smart if you don't have money for LT's or new cats right away.

dude dont sell your car. well i would say no cats first off,then i would say byby to the bbk and get a ls6 with an 80mm TB,then i would check 02's,then i would get a tranny cooler and a tune. i tell you what ,these a4 cars run like **** when you get the tranny's really warmed up.one cold night i beat a buddy of mine's m6 01 c5 with CAI,catback,tune, and i got him from a 25-125 by about 3/4 of a car and he can drive and did not miss a gear. couple a weeks later another guy in a 02 ss m6 with a lid,headers,catted Y,catback got me by about 1 car. i had been messin around with my car alot that day though. motor and tranny were both running very warmand my foot was heavy and it was a fairly hot day.shifts were very sloppy and seemed to take forever.but when my tranny and motor are cool it feels great!

I vote to sell the Formula and buy a Honda Civic. That way you can up the HP just by adding stickers. No more difficult stuff like tuning or wrenching...

sell that intake and get you a ls6. Ive seen a lot of fast manifolds and bbk's put down some good hp numbers but not REAL high tq numbers. Im not sure why that is. Seem like to me the ls6 keeps a better tq curve than a fast or bbk..Has anyone else noticed this??? Anyways add some headers and a big stall converter and you wont know what hit you.

Im running longtubes, off road y pipe, cutout, lid, with a TCI 3500 converter. Car ran a 12.7 with a soft launch and tires spinning to about the 330 mark. trapped 109 in Hot humid air
