u can do that but think of it this way, u can get cheap power up until about 600 hp, but after that things become rediculously expensive(four cams, hugeass heads) thats a lot of money that us lsx guys dont have to pay for, i vote go LS1. goodluck choosing

You should be able to damn near nail mid 11s if you can drive that thing, considering your dyno numbers. Add a little spray and you've a solid 10 second car on your hands.
It's a 6-speed?

I shall say the opposite. The Cobras are built to handle 800 RWHP STOCK. Since the car is supercharged, new flywheel ($1000), IRS brace ($250) and Whipple 3.4L($3800) and you have atleast 700 RWHP car. IMO COBRA... they are really easy to build fast.

You should beat the stock cobras. It's a close race between you and a pullied cobra. Your 390+ rwhp vs 430-450rwhp+400 extra pounds = a good race. Now talking about a KB or whipple cobra... your gonna need some nitrous or one hell of a build motor.
It's very easy to make a cobra fast. A 600hp cobra is more reliable than a 600hp ls1.

Cobra all the way.
2.8 KB
Solid axle
Bolt ons (maf, KB BAP, 62's, CAI etc)
New owner ran 10.33's @ 133 with a 3:55 gear. Before I sold it due to my Dad's health I went over a year and near 50+ street races unbeaten with that Cobra. I saw a Black 03 last night and even with a modded C6, I still wish I had it.
With the inlets and tb's they have now, you can have an easy 700rwhp with NO cam lope and an INSANE puch from any roll.
PM me with any questions, check my sig vid, that was when the boost was low and it was pretty slow.

Keep the Trans Am. You sound like you have a pretty sick car as it is, and would probably be hanging with and beating a few descent Cobras right now. Hell for what you'd get trade in on a Terminator, you're still looking at 10+ difference for a nice one. You could even go forced induction with supporting mods for that 10k if you could do most of the work yourself. You'd be assraping cobras then for sure.

OP, are you talking about trading in your ride + the extra cash for a Cobra or trading someone straight up?
If you happen to have found a semi retarded individual who is willing to trade straight up then I say go for it. But if you are gonna pony up the extra cash then I would just go for a C5Z for about the same price.

I have seen that the 03-04 cobras run like a 12.8 stock, not sure of the trap speeds. I think it's like 113 or something, but again, I could be wrong. Either way, I love the terminator cobras. I wanted one so bad I could taste it. I searched everywhere I could for one but couldn't find one with low enough miles for a cheap enough price. Keep the ls1, get the supercharged 4.6, either way, you can't go wrong.

The problem with cobras is they are way to much cash, and I have not seen a 600+ cobra in real life yet. I am not saying they don't exist I am just saying they are as rare as supercharged hondas
OP where do you live?
