Unles you literally ride an LS1 like a horse, we will need to know what car you have to make a detirmination. Also, the price difference is large in some cases. condition, miles...?

Long story short, stick with the LS1. Its a real muscle car. Pushrods all-the-way.

Despite the awesome factory powerplant, I can't see spending $25,000 on a 5-6 year old Mustang. If I had the money, C5 Z06s would be more to my liking. Hell, older Vipers go for around that much. C6 'Vettes are tipping into the high 20s now. I guess it depends on what you want in a car.

I have a thing for blown Cobras, but not for the money.

If you're looking to hang with stock Terminators, something's amiss with your driving.

Mid 12's are very attainable in a bolt on LS1 Fbody, you probably would hang with a stock Cobra if not beat it.
Although as a past New Edge Mustang owner, I feel the Mustang interior is more refined than the Fbody, but you still have a 4.6. There are many highly modded 4.6 Stangs that will crush me, but the Camaro/ Trans Am just feels more like the real muscle car, not a pony car.
Bottom line, both are bad *** cars, but with the price difference of a Terminator for what you get, it makes more sense to stay with the LS1.

One more vote for keeping it, and one more vote for the push rod engine. Working on a over head cam engine sucks. Save up some money and get a procharger, it will bring a grin to your face every time you put the pedal to the floor.

I think you should keep the ls1. For the same price, you could make that ls1 nasty. It should be able to outrun one already if you are even a decent driver. I believe they trap something like 122mph stock. I could be wrong about that though
