350-400rwhp 5.3l
Getting ready to go ahead and pick up a cheap 5.3 for my Trans Am due to the blown LS1. Gonna be doing a buildup on the side during the winter, but I need this car running right now.
Anyways, how hard is it to get these motors up to 350-400HP? I guess I should ask how expensive lol.
I have basic boltons that I will be swapping over to it from my LS1, and I plan to go ahead and put in a cam as well. Depending on the cam would it be possible with basic LS1 boltons to reach that? Headers, Exhaust, Intake, all the free mods done again I suppose, and whatever else I have that i've forgotten about.

Are you looking for hp to the wheels? or flywheel?
Edit: sorry just saw the title says rwhp
I would say 350rwhp is attainable with boltons and a good size cam, do you have a stock stall?

Hmm. I kinda feel like i'm going to be disappointed once I get the 5.3 in lol. But I guess that's what i'm going to have to live with until I can get my new motor built up.
No idea what this motor feels like in a truck or how hard it pulls. Don't think i've ever ridden in anything with the 5.3 in it.
But you can't beat 400 bucks for a complete motor with 50k on it.

They are good motors, just a little short on cubes, i would put a 224+ cam in there and once you get the m6 it will be a blast, bluecajun5.3 ran 12.5 in rcsb at 340rwhp, thats fast if you ask me, now drop ~600-800 pounds and there is where you could be
