Default ls6 intake swap

Hey guys. I want to put my ls6 intake on my '99 SS tomorow. Other than the required tools, what will I need? Will I need a new gasket? If so, do I purchase an ls6 gasket or an ls1 gasket?? Thanks for the help

I fixing to do mine too. What I have read you have to either buy the LS6 coolant lines or grind the bottom of the fins off the intake. Your coolant lines runs under your intake and the LS6 intake wont bolt up. Also if you buy new gasket at your parts store just tell them its for a 2002 LS1 car. I think thats all you will need.

if the ls6 intake has gaskets already then you can just reuse them. there is no need to buy any new ones because they are reusable.

What if you were also adding a Nick Williams throttle body at the same time?

Just don't break the OPSU when you are pulling the LS1 intake off. This guide will tell you about everything you need.

good luck on the install, be gentle on the OPSU, i found it easier to just remove it before i pulled off the intake that way i didn't break it...you'll have to rent a tool for that tho. have fun!

no you won't need a tune for an intake an TB, but it will yield you more power having it tuned regardless, just make sure you aren't planning on a bunch of other mods before you have it tuned for $$'s sake
