Default 2001-2002 LS1 and LS6 F-bodies

I've heard from a few people that all 2001-2002 F-bodies came with a LS6 intake but some even came with an LS6 block as well.... however, they were under different part number then the normal LS6 motors i was wondering if anyone knew the part numbers for the LS6 blocks put in 2001-2002 F-Bodies and also the LS6 intake manifold put in F-bodies for 2001-2002

i'm buying a 2002 WS6 and would really like to know thanks everyone

Look on the top left side of the block right under the tb. If you have a "bulls eye" then you have an ls1 block. If you dont then its an ls6.

Look for the little circle lol

No need for the sad face. No real advantage to having an LS6 block despite what some bone heads will tell you about it being faster.

Dont worry about what to look for, if you have an 01-02 you will have a LS6 intake, and the block itself brings no real advantages as far as extra power goes. In fact the block is slightly weaker in FI applications because the bay windows.

I picked up 89 hp at 6700 rpm in a back to back dyno run with only a block change.

I thought the way to tell if it was an LS6 block is the #'s? Like 241 ment LS1 and something else was LS6. Am I thinking of something else?

you picked up 89 horse power when you changed from a LS1 to a LS6 block.... wow thats great so you at 380HP to the ground now?

does this mean that the LS6 Equipped F-bodies are faster?

also what is the difference between the LS6 and LS1 block and also the LS6 and LS1 intake manifold?

he's being sarcastic. if he picked anything up then he's missing a decimal... more like .89 hp.

Yes I was being sarcastic. You should have seen the post when I asked about my LS6 block back in 2004. People weren't so friendly to me.

This post comes to mind. https://ls1tech.com/forums/1740886-post8.html

It's only the block and intake. The later f bodies all got the intake and a few got the block only with LS1 everything else.
