GTO or Camaro SS
I'm not sure if this debate is already on here, but here it goes anyways.
If it is would someone please point me in the right direction?
I'm in the market for a new car, but I wanted to get opinions first.
I'm looking at 2006 GTOs, and 2002 Camaro SS.
Should I get the newer and more expensive GTO, and keep it stock?
I say keep it stock, as if I would have a choice.... What I mean is that I most likely wouldn't be able to afford many mods. I almost bought a 06 with only 2200 miles on it, and my payments would have been $380. I’m a working student so that with insurance and living expenses is about as much as I can do.

Should I go with an SS and use extra money for mods?

i would agree the SS is a must!!! if u dont have the money for the mods u will be very happy with a stock SS. my buddy has a 04 GTO and i do like it but between the two hands down the SS takes all. good luck either way...

Man...i had a 2006 GTO before...I would say the GTO BUT you would have no mod money...if your going for looks, speed, and comfort i would say GTO. If your going for looks, speed, and mod money go with SS.

I like Camaros, but they are too squeeky and they rattle too damn much. But of course they are 10 year old cars. GTOs...no rattle or squeeks...awesome driveability, full bolt ons will get a cam/full bolt on camaro.

If you don't mind the f-body squeaks and the mullet stigma... get the SS and mod it.
If you want a comfortable daily driver, definitely get the GTO.
Both CAN be made fast, but in your case, do you want to go fast SOONER (SS with mods or stock goat)

Both cars are great, GTO has the better interior along with being a newer car but will take longer to mod up then the SS and in my opinion, the SS looks awhole lot better then the GTO. In the end, you just gotta choose which car your liking more.

Well dude get an 04 GTO and the money you save from buying an 06 you can spend on the 04 and make it faster... As far as an SS goes, its outta date man the interior of the gto's are flawless the body looks great (not the best but it wil grow on you). Take it from me I own an 04 and love it to death I wouldnt trade it for any kind of F-body.

I was in my market too looking at GTo's...but hands down, The SS's are jusy way better looking IMO, and when it comes to being fast, the SS weighs less then the GTO's...their pigs...although the interiors are sexy on the GTO's thats something I didnt really care about..I wanted a Performance car that would put a smile on my face and looked great doing it.

Camaro SS,
GTO's are not cheap to maintain, they eat tires, synthetic oil changes, ect.
I love my GTO, and reccomend them to everybody, but if cost is a factor, they're not cheap cars to own.
