Yesterday I went to the 2010 Camaro debut at the local Chevy dealership (Ben Mynatt GM in Concord, NC) because I had to just touch it. I knew it was big and heavy, but wow. Hopefully the pictures I will upload will go through. Compare my 2002 Camaro Z28 with the new 1SS automatic (boring). Still a cool car though.

The front definitely looks (and is, I think) much bigger. The roofline might look the same in the pictures but my relatively stock height 4th gen looks a lot lower if you're there. And the hood is much higher on the new one.
Also, I am more than 6' and I cannot sit in my backseat unless I sit sideways, and I was pretty comfortable in the backseat of the new one (comfortable compared to mine).

Fatter might not be the word I'd use to describe it. I think beefier fits better. It's just got a bigger, broader, more intimidating stance. The 4th gen was designed to be more aerodynamic, sleek, kinda weave in & out of traffic sorta look. The 5th gen just has a sharply edged 'get the f**k outta my way' kinda look. Muy Bueno.

As far as the Camaro, I'm not that surprised. I hope GM is gonna be able to keep them in production though. I'd like to see the evolution of this car over the next few years.

Wow! ... I thought the Mustangs were allot heavier than that. I'm assuming that the GT-500's are much heavier though.

There seems to be alot of excitement for the Camaro. I hope it's not too late, they're years late to the party.

As for production numbers, I asked a GM guy and he told me GM originally intended on 3500 for the first year but they got like 15000 orders, so that should keep them busy. Still nothing compared to the close to 300000 back in the day.

I am pretty sure they are regular rims. You can get some black 18" 'old school' looking ones, 19", 20", or 21". The 19-20" are aluminum I think, either painted or polished or the grayish finish (in the pictures). This is all from the top of my head, I don't have the brochure in front of me.It's funny, the 18" look tiny compared to the 21", which although big, doesn't look that big (not like DUBs).

Hey I am just saying what I have heard. I am actually out of town right now and I stopped at a different Chevy dealer and the guy told me there are actually like 23000 orders and so far GM has built like 5000. Once again, this is what I have heard.

No suprise here fellas, it just follows the desing trend of the last 5 or so years for all cars, where every car no matter if its a sedan, small import, sports car or whatever, they just keep getting a fatter, broader, beefier, higher, bigger, straighter look.

Of course its big, it rolls on dubs and still has some good fender gap. Thats the only thing i hate about it and the only thing keeping me from buying it. If its on "dubs" it needs to complete the look and tuck into the fender nicely. But it dosen't, so what if I wanted some lightweight 18s? Then I'd look way more like a damn 4x4 than my stock hieght 4th gen. if it wasnt for that one fact, I can get over the small wieght problem, but for that fact alone im not getting one. Still a nice car though and I cant wait to see one on the road.

Its a little bigger overall, which improves it's looks IMO. I haven't seen the interior in person yet, but I hope it has more room and leg space, which would really make it a better DD.
