Google gives me the funniest things... I got bored and started googling around to find out which was the fastest bone stock Firebird ever released and stumbled on this thread at the Honda forums:

im surprised a majority of the replies were in favor of ls1 fbodies and GTO's. its always assumed your gunna have die hard honda fans that say a CRX or a GSR swapped civic is gunna be your quickest car under $10k; im still happy a lot of ppl said z28's and t/a's

My buddy bought an Integra for around 8 or 10 grand and dumped thousands upon thousands of dollars worth of mods in it, headers, full exhaust, intake, suspension, tune, body kit, wheels, tires and ran a mid 15 sec quarter while I ran a 13.7 with my $12,000 Trans Am. 
And I got 29 mpg on the way back from the track, (almost 2 hour drive), and he got like 22mpg. LOL. Not Bashing, just saying I don't see the appeal of dumping all your money into a car like that.

As I saw someone say, probably elsewhere here on tech, it's like "putting marble countertops and a 52 inch TV in a mobile home".
Wait a sec, I DO HAVE a 52 inch TV in a trailer!!!
But I held off on the countertops. I couldn't find any in purple velour!
Least I can take the TV with me when I get a house!
Although, it is pretty perfect to have a Trans Am parked outside the trailer.

I ran 13.7 with my $2500 civic. Give me that extra $9500 & It would of been a 9 second car. It's just all about how you do things. I'd rather have an F-body over a Honda as a "race" car any day though. Which is why I finally got 1.

The thing is though, that's still 13.7 seconds of pure homo. I got ya beat, I've never spent ANY seconds being gay, ever!
