Default need your guys' .02

when i get back from afghanistan i plan on getting a new car either a 2010 ss or a c5z06, ive been debating this for several months now with my parents friends and now i want to hear what you guys have to say. my LS1 has about 100k on it and i travel from SC to my hometown in VA every now and then, so this would be my DD. my buddy made a great point though, he said whats next after a z06 for the money? bc whatever i would get after that id probably be dissapointed. Are there any of you who has a z06 as a DD and how do you like it as a DD?

i dont have a zo6, i have the next best thing, and by far a better DD(see sig). i wouldnt be settling on a lesser car because id be scared the next car wouldnt be as good, thats pretty dumb IMO. the z06 will def satisfy your power side but space as a daily driver or family car will def lack. the camaros are bigger all around size and weight, less mpg, and im not a huge fan of the looks, they have died out on me. make a list of what you want from the car and what you will want a year or two from now.

Have you driven either car?

As long as you didnt need a backseat, Id go C5Z no doubt.

But go check them out b/c I dont know how it would be for a DD. I know the center consoles in the vette's is a JOKE if you use them a lot. They are about 2" deep, LOL.

Not too big a fan of the 2010. I'd go with the C5 Z06.

2010 SS no doubt, you see so many C5 Vettes around its almost as common as a mustang. The interior of the 2010 is better, the car rides so damn smooth and is so much more up to date. The C5Z is way lighter so it will perform better with less HP but who cares youll have a bad *** looking car, that performs better then 90% of cars out there.

i know exactly what you mean. im just torn, i just think i want the performance of a c5z06 but the modern-ness of the camaro which sucks because that would equal out to a new C6 which i cant afford. if i could id get a new C6 GS. but im not trying to base my paycheck off of my car payment

Why not get a used C6, they can be had in the high 20's low 30's, and its better than both of the other choices. a c5 z06 is going for just a few thousand less than a used ls2 c6, and the camaro is usually going for more... so if you can afford the ls3 camaro, you can afford a used ls2 (maybe ls3) C6.

I love both of those cars but Id probably take the new camaro out of the two, but my advice to you as already said is look for a used C6 best of those two cars in one. All the performance of the c5z06 and the modern look and feel of the new camaro. If you can afford the new camaro you can afford a C6!

First THANK YOU for serving this great country, and protecting the freedom, which many take for granted. Second, my wife and I were out "test driving" not too long ago; long story short, we were LESS than impressed with the new Camaro. We drove the 2SS and the 1SS models. They are fast as HELL, but the fit and finish is SORRY!! The interior looks and feels cheap!!The buttons and controls feel as though they are held on with duct tape!! I can't justify spending 40k plus for that.
We'll look alot more, before making a decision. $.02

Good to see GM still hasn't broken the good 'ol F-body tradition.

I was under the impression that they'd fixed that problem. If not, then I might have to rethink my opinion on the car. If the new Camaro doesn't cut it, and the new C6 is too expensive, I say.........LS2 GTO! Interior, performance and you know what it really isn't that bad looking...
