Default How to burn out in an M6

This is probably a noob question, but I was messing around in a parking lot the other night and I could not get a good burn out going for the life of me. Could someone help me out on the proper steps to do so? It's not something I plan to do often, but I would at least like to know how. Thanks.

Make sure traction control is off. If you have TC, there will be a switch on the dash.

Clutch in, raise revs to about 2-3000. Quick(ish) release clutch as you press down on the gas. Should be good enough to get you going.

Don't toast your clutch.

Rev car to 2-3K rpm's
release clutch
MAKE SURE TIRES SPIN
hold gas and brake
Make smoke (from tires)

lol I never understood why ppl would burn out while there clutch is slipping, ok maybe they think the smoke outside is from the tyres not the clutch (understandable), BUT HOW DO YOU NOT REALISE THAT YOU HAVE YOUR LEFT FOOT STILL PARTIALLY PRESSING THE CLUTCH PEDAL? LOL

I dont get how anyone keeps the clutch pedal pressed down and keeps it there while revving the hell out of the engine, noob or no noob, you are flooring the throttle while u still have the clutch pressed in a bit, dont understand how anyone would think its ok to do that, noob or not.

1. Turn off traction control
2. Place car in gear
3. Hold down the brake with your right heel.
4. Rev car up with your right toe.
5. Drop the clutch (removing your foot completely)
6. Move left foot to brake pedal.
7. Check oil pressure
8. Check temperature
9. Check humidity
10. Check for cops
11. Check the time
12. Check for people in front of you
13. If someone is in front of you do you like them?
14. If no release left foot.
15. If yes release right foot.
16. Get out of car.
17. Bask in everyones awe as your cool factor went up 10 points.

when your clutch slips you don't have to be touching it with your foot. it's completely engaged but the disc is "slipping" and not grabbing the flywheel.

use 2nd gear instead of 1st also. Makes it a billion times easier to keep it going and 2nd gear is longer than 1st so you arent turning big RPM and smacking the rev limiter

I never tried doing a burnout with a stock ls1. As long as I have TCS off, it's hard to keep the tires from squeeling just from leaving a red light

I like this one best!

Was wondering if most do a 1st or 2nd gear burn!

if you cant do it without bouncing off the limiter, you suck and should enver do it again. i hate when idiots think pinging it off the limiter is cool.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LO8DU39uPek

bring the RPM's up to 5-6k
dump clutch
get on the brakes hard to stop yourself from moving forward, ease off of them until you get the desired amount of smoke
i hold my RPMs around 6k and usually do it in 2nd gear

i do a LOT of burnouts. haha

Don't forget to turn traction control off!
