Wink Cam install parts?

I have been searching and have seen a few different things but no specific liston what i need. I'm installing MS4 cams in my 99 SS m6 and in my wifes 05 GTO M6. I want to know everthing that i will need to do the install that is a necessity for each car. We both have intake and full exhaust. Do i need to upgrade her injectors? PUMP? same for my car? what gaskets do i need etc. etc. All help will be appreciated.

You have to upgrade your oil pump as well as your timing chain and get a tune after youve broken in the cam 500 miles. You'll also need to upgrade your entire valvetrain

I knew i had to get new springs, retainers, and push rods, and obviously a tune thats a given! I planned on upgrading my timing chain to an LS2 as well.
Why replace the oil pump?
I forgot to mention my car has 63K and hers has 47K.

I would replace the stock LS1 pump with an LS6. It doesnt have to be ported.

you dont HAVE to replace the oil pump, but its a good idea, from what I read the LS6 pumps flow alot better and with the larger cam its a good idea to replace it while your have it all apart and it acts as preventative maintenance.

I kept my stock oil pump because I don't have a huge cam like a MS4. The MS4 makes power in the higher RPMs. I heard you should upgrade the oil pump when you are revving up to 7k rpms. I usually shift at 6300 so I left mine alone.

Even at 6k. Most cams arent being moved to 7k. Only a handful of folks running them.

im sorry but this is all wrong. you do not NEED to replace the oil pump nor the timing chain, although on an ls1 you should (i did on my swap). and you definately dont need to "break" a cam in on an ls1. the only thing reccommended is to do is to heat cycle your springs the first few times.

I just put a 224R in my car, lets see if i can remember what i used:

Parts:
Cam
Pushrods
Springs, Valve seals, retainers (Comes in PRCs kit from TSP)
Cam Swap Gasket set (Got mine from TSP)
GM or ARP Crank Bolt (I used the ARP)
Timing set of Choice
Oil pump and O-ring would be a good idea.
I also used ARP Cam and Retainer plate bolts, although its not necessary.

Tools:
Lifter holding tools (I used 5/16 steel rod)
Pushrod Length Checker
Torque Wrenches covering everything from about 10 lbs/ft - 250 lbs/ft
3 jaw puller if you still have stock balancer (Balancer puller for U/D Pulley) I cut down my stock bolt, turned down the shoulder, and center pointed it to make a nice point for the puller to sit in to on the front of the crank.
Pulley Install Tool (Make one, or buy one. I made mine with all thread M16x2.0 about 6.5" long)
Metric Wrenches/sockets for disassembly/reassembly.
RTV for pain rail
Anti-sieze for pulley re-install
Loctite

I picked mine up at my local Fastenal, but a few of the hardware stores should have it. I know someone on here was selling install tools he made for about 20.00.

Thanks NVR_SPDS thats exactly the type of list i was looking for.

Also i keep seeing this pushrod checker come up. HOW do i know which rods to get when i order everthing if i have to check the length after i install the cam?

Also what about the fuel pump and injectors in each car. This is the only power adder mods they will see besides what we already have and i'm also going to get an ls6 intake for my car. We really just want nice looking badASS sounding cars. I'm just shooting for 400wheel and i know the MS4 will get me there no problem.
