I noticed today that when I leave my car running, it gets hot. The fans don't turn on. The car hit 220 today and no fans. I looked over all the wires. Everything seems to be fine. It's only 65* in my town today.

Where are you getting this temp reading from. The stock gauge is nowhere near accurate according to the markings it has. Stock fan settings are somewhere around 225 for the low speed fan, 230 or so for the high speed fan. IMO if you know the motor was getting hot and the fan wasnt on, you either have a faulty fan and/or fan relay. Fan motors go out periodically, they are cheap to replace and easy to swap out. Dont sweat this.

I never knew where the fans turn on until we had another 4th gen come into our shop complaining about the temp. Both cars the low speed kicked on at 220 or so and high speed around 235 I believe. Most old school guys or people used to old school motors aren't used to these high temps, but the newer motors are designed to run at higher temps than the older motors.

The gauge shows about 220 on my car then it won't go up any more. This is at idle running for 10 minutes or so. I'm going to put in a 180 t-stat and a slp fan switch. That should keep the temps a bit lower!

If you are reading from your stock gauge, then you may not actually be at 220*. If you are concerned about it, get someone with a handheld tuner or laptop tuner to read the actual temperature.
