Default Getting slow at my old age took a 1hr and 35 min for fuel filter and plugs..

Old age =32. I have owned different alot of different LS1 cars over the past 11 years. The number 8 plug finally kicked my *** Out of all the LSx cars I owned (look in sig) this plug did take some time but never like this and i never ever tried to take it out from the bottom! I always use a swivel socket attachment and did this time, but it just didn't want to come out! Well to make myself feel a little better i used to take about an hour doing both my Vette and my old 00 Formula. Now that i have a 98 Z, the coil packs were not set up for me so i could remove the whole rack to do the passenger side. I did end up taking off the last 2 packs on the passenger side and putting them back in with only 1 bolt for next time) Going out to put a couple more miles on my beautiful 177k Z28

I don't pull the coils on my '98. It's as much/more trouble than just working around them.

The first time on a '98 was hard for me. I think I have the right angle down now with the right swivel and proper position. For the '99+, I would still say that removing the rail is the way to go. '98s require special processes in this area.

I still don't understand how people think this is easier from below.

Now that i think back i don't really know lol. I never sold them because something was wrong with them. I guess it was just a thrill getting another color different mods etc.Of course the economy was good so it was nothing to shell out a couple grand but not now lol I wish I would of kept my WS6 out of all the cars I had. I miss it even though it is totalled now

Driver's side is really easy, for the passenger side, I take off the coils, and valvecover. I change mine in like 20 minutes. Also helps if you don't have all the emissions crap.

i know what your talking about.i,m 49.the 1st time i changed them on my 2001 b4c,i used ls1 how to.it took me 1 hr. 45 min.then i figured the 2nd time i could just remove the a.i.r. tube on the pass side and do it,without removing the coil packs.on the #8,i have to lay flat across next to the cai,and do it by feel with a swivel.it took me around 25 min.
