Depends on where you live IMO. I see you have Livernois parts on your car. Are you from Michigan? If so, I would stick with the AWD if you plan on driving it in the winter.

If you don't live where there is alot of snow then I would get the 2wd personally. With AWD, you have more parts, you get more wear and tear on those parts which will cost more money in the long run.

All TBSS came with the 6.0 LS2. Where you live should decide whether you get AWD or 2WD. I bought one with AWD because of the snow around here. I would get an '07 or up because they have a 5 year, 100,000 mile warranty on them. Because of the weak tranny in these (especially the AWD model), a warranty could be very helpful.

If you are looking to mod it, I would buy a 2WD model and plan on replacing the tranny with a built one with a good stall.

we don't get all that much snow, + we have an my H2 if its gets real ugly out to drive, likely get a better deal on a 2wd, + must be a little quicker vs the awd?

All are the same Engine and HP only differences are 2WD or AWD and 1SS (LS if its an 06) or 3SS (LT if its an 06). If your going for speed get the 2WD it is faster by i'd say atleast 3tenths stock to stock or mod to mod depending if u can get the 2WD to hook. Personally i like AWD cuz with a stall its a great light to light killer hard to beat AWD on the street. 2WD is cheaper though and can tow more by 200lbs (6600lbs vs 6400lbs).
They are great suvs i love mine and good luck with ur search

as said if you live near snow go AWD. If i decided to get one it'd be AWD just for the snow factor

She's a lucky girl

Yes they are all the same more or less, an 06 has a three bolt cam where 07+ has a single bolt. Not a big deal though. The years will dyno roughly the same. They made them in '09 too.

I'd get AWD if you get snow, or 2WD otherwise. I live in NC and 2WD is fine for us here. I freaking love mine, I will drive it until the wheels fall off. I have all the bolt ons + an L92 heads/cam set up and N20. N/A it makes around 450rwhp. It's the perfect SUV. Lots of *****, great handling...I love the steering. I think it's like 1 & 1/2 turns lock to lock, versus some SUVs where you feel like you have to turn the steering wheel 10 times to turn tightly

Lots of great parts for these. Check out www.tbssowners.com. An intake, efan kit, and tune will pick them up an easy 40-50hp.

I'd like to pick up an AWD for my wife in the next year as we will need a bigger family hauler. Either that or an Envoy Denali, but the TBSS's seem to be coming down in price. I'll probably look for an 07+ for the extended warrenty since I would leave this close to stock for as long as I could. My plan would be to get one in the spring and then get another set of rims and blizzaks or something like that for the winter time just to be safe. I really like the Saab 9-7X Aero's a lot, maybe because they are rarer, but then again TBSS's aren't exactly crawling all over the place around here.

I spend a lot of time lurking on tbssowners.com. Do you have a website/blog about the trio of rides in your sig like you did with your fbody's?

The transmissions are the weak point. You may want to carfax it to see if it has been replaced at some point.
