Default Header install, O2 qestions?

I am installing long tubes on my 10ss... My question is about the O2's... can I just splice and solder some new wire to make them longer, or do I have to spend another $40 friken bucks on some stupid wire kit? The wife is already pissed I spent the header money Thanks guys

Just read you should not solder the wires on a O2, and use a connecter only beacsue the wire has to breath! I did not see anything about using special wire though????

I'd do the extension kit only because the O2's are picky about resistance. If you interrupt the signal back to the PCM it could be a real headache.

Thanks guys, I was told if I chase the wires up to the fire wall, I would be able to pull some more wire out and it will reach. A guy did this on camaro5 with his OBX headers. Anyone try that, he said I could cut loose a clip or something, and its holding more wire up in the firewall.

Or you could just get the Vette O2's that are longer to begin with. 13111's I believe.
Bayer, correct me if I'm wrong.

$40 isn't that much, just don't let the woman know. Worth it for peace of mind knowing the job is done right.
