I was very logical with me saying taking the money left over and dumping it into the f body you would have a very nice car. Idk why all the bias comments. And my other comments where just out of fun. Which "some" of you guys just dont understand. Which explains why "most" vette owners out on the street think so highly of themselves, dont wave back, and just have this snobish way about themselves.
I said it before that I wish I could afford one but for some reason didnt get noticed. Whatever.
OP thats a freaking beautiful car and I wish I had one. Maybe someday. Congrats sir.

The 4th gens are just old enough to be cheap and worn, but still new enough to be a common driver for people who prioritize affordable performance. Lots of people buy them who would just as soon buy something newer/more expensive if they could afford it. There aren't many people left on this forum who liked these cars enough to drop $25-30k on them ~10 years ago when they were brand new.
Even the super clean 4th gens are not yet old enough to get proper respect as a significant historical benchmark of American muscle heritage, they are still just cheap speed. One day that might change. Nobody looks at a '69 Camaro and says, "Oh, that's nice, but a '69 Corvette would be much cooler"; on average, outsiders generally view those cars on an equal level. Something similar to this is already happening in the 3rd gen F-body vs C4 world....outsiders seem to like or dislike that era of cars equally as well.

Well boys....
The mod bug hit me pretty hard on Tuesday. It wont be stock anymore... Check out the sig for the mods that are going in next month. A few more things might be added to the list also (shifter, 100 shot, remote bleeder, and possibly heads). Its expensive.. But it will totally be worth it!

Glad to see you got a car. Looks great in black! Mine sold about a week after you looked at it. I talked to Mike @ New Era the other day and he told me you bought some toys for the car. Have fun with all that, it should sound and run sweet with that stuff!

Ha, too true. Although, most of the guys with Z06's are into cars from what I've seen. It's usually the guys with the stock C5's and C6's that you have to watch out for. Especially the ones with the accessories all over them and stuff like that. The people that fall into that category are the reason why the Corvette owner stereotype exists.

I got bitched at from someone in the local corvette club for "driving it in the rain"... He said he saw me last week and pretty much said I should take care of the car better... Even though I prob have the exterior WAY better protected and don't go to dealers to use their shitty oil... I like to enjoy my cars. A little rain wont hurt it... It's water...

Not to change the subject but how much does a regular C5 differ from a C5Z?
Ive never had the chance to drive a Z, but my dad had a 6 speed C5 for a while that I drove a few times. Fun car. Obviously the Zo6 will be quicker, but is it like driving a totally different car?

It's a difference of 60-70rwhp... Not a ton by any means, but a stock LS1 C5 should typically run very low 13's and a Z06 will run mid 12's and trap a few mph higher.
It's enough to make it noticeably different... But Its not THAT big... lol... A half second...
