One good point noted above, and noted on the local Mustang forum that i'm a member of.....
The Trans Am is one of a kind... not only the mods, but the car will not be made any more... it'll forever be dead... even if they woudl bring it back liek they did the camaro and GTO, the new TA won't be a f-body, and wont' resemble the orignal bloodline at all.....
in 10 or 15 years, it might just start to gain value... but as the GM flagship, Corvettes will always be made... i will alwasy be able to buy a new Corvette... there will always be one that's 5 or 6 years old for a great price... T/A's are only getting older, with no new ones to replenish the ranks...

The ta might have a chance to gain some value, but in your case, since its not original (not that, that is a bad thing

Buy the bird back my dad kicks himself everyday for not buying his 69 Camaro back when he had the chance, now hes trying to convince the guy to sell it again. If you have the opportunity I would take it in a heart beat it sounds like you really want it back but your almost forcing yourself to keep the Vette

No matter how nice you think a car is, there is always another car that could be considered an "upgrade" in class by some people. If you're the sort of person that's concerned with stuff like this, then you should keep the C5, or better yet, try to get something newer and more expensive.
I have many problems, but I'm thankful this is not one of them.

T/A All day man. I mean I really want a vette but that's because I consider it an upgrade from the camaro. To me the camaro is a badass street car, and has lots of potential, but it doesn't have the character of a Trans Am. I really want a trans am but I couldn't trade off my great condition low mileage camaro for a beat up T/A...
O well I would go with the T/A, vette's are harder to mod(just mean harder to get to stuff)

I didn't notice the part about the Vette being an auto. My Formula is auto....borrrring!
Hmmm, that might sway me the other way now. And like someoen else said, there aren't any T/A's being made, but 5, 10 years from now you could easily get into a nice C6 (or C7?)
And I'd rather have a C6 than a C5 anyway.

well, the vette is for sale on Corvette Forum..... Only way i sell it is if i get a fair amoutn for it... i think my starting price is more than fair, so i won't take any lowball offers... so its now up to the "buying public"... if they want it, then i'll buy the TA...

The f body is raw and unrefined, unforgiving and relentless. The Vette is much more civil, better mannered and has a precise feeling about it. You really can't go wrong either way.

same situation. My Trans Am is for sale in the classifieds here. I sold my C5 3 months ago and miss it to death. I need to get back into one. I will still keep my Z28 when I get my Vette

I don't have the most experience with the vette...I have driven a couple but very very short distances at dealerships, and a new LS3 Corvette Grand Sport. but I think it felt more solid and planted but less savage(haven't driven a z06). Honestly I think an f-body is just a little more fun in an immature kinda way. They aren't as fast, and don't corner as well, but they are still meaner than ****.

Based on trans type, I'd have to pick the C5 in this case.
