Not 2x4's, but the actual rubber ramps that bolt onto the driveway? Our new house has a bit of a steep ingress getting into the driveway and I wanted to buy a ramp to fix the problem so that my freshly painted bumper stays nice looking. Any experience with these or a similar product?

i really like this idea...my driveway is fairly steep, but my neighborhood has a sidewalk, so theres a flat section close to the bottom...i hit my exhaust on the way in, and my bumper on the way out

We had a similar situation at my house when I was growing up. My parents paid to have a contractor lay some asphalt at the end of the driveway to smooth out the transition. Problem solved.
FYI, we had 2 Corvettes and a Camaro at the time, so it was quite a problem. lol!

I think it would cost quite a bit more to pay a contractor to lay asphalt than to buy the ramps, but I havent consulted any either. No HOA in the neighborhood helps a bit with that

Thanks! I think the 100+ pound weight would keep them from stealing them? Hopefully
Anyway, here are some that DO bolt into the concrete and have the pipes underneath... with an awesome 80's type video about them to watch

Those ramps are useless pieces of crap for a cautious driver. Reason being, you will for the most part have already scraped your bumper by the time your tire reaches the ramp. The tire is what actually lifts the car/bumper up thus gaining ground clearance. Our overhangs are so long in the front that by the time you reach the $300 piece of rubber your bumper will already be scraping. It will merely lift your car up about 6 inches sooner. Now, depending on the grade of the driveway, I doubt it slopes up more then an inch or so in that 6 inches. Its pointless for what you are trying to do. What it will do is let you go out of the driveway a little faster without bottoming out, but you shouldn't be playing speed racer anyway. BTW, same goes for exhaust scraping too, the exhaust would drag in the center before the rear tire was lifted up from the ramp. Don't fall for sales gimmicks gentlemen.
