Default scare last night

I was racing someone on the freeway last night going about 70mph and dropped 3rd gear went to about 6 grand and did a hard shift to 4th, and for some reason it didnt take 4th and made a bad clunk/vibration under the whole car. I put it in 6th and it felt like it was missing a little bit. 5th gear felt the same missing a little bit there was no check engine light, good oil pressure, normal temp. after a few minutes the car felt like it was running normal again.got home checked oil to make sure there was nothing in it that looked normal too. has anyone had anything weird like this happen before

It's a manual, and it didn't take? Or auto? Did you get a grinding?

its a 6 speed I got ahead of my shift and missed 4th. it had a bad vibration loud noise under the car. it shifts fine went through all the gears after that I just wanna know why the motor was missing for a few min. I might of hit the rev limiter but i couldnt hear it cuz of the noise it made

Did you float your valves? If you bend a push rod, it wouldn't go back to normally. Before adding LS6 top end to my T/A it was work all due to a broken pushrod with 115k DD highway car. If you have the mech skills to swap out the push rods or know someone to help, buy a stock length comp cam or manley set for iinsurance when racing... stock push rods suck! They tend to bend a hair, so stronger ones some ppl think add a small lift giving a small increase in power.. I belive it in a solid cam set up, but not hyd. rollers

Did you overrev it? Hope it's not a bent pushrod or valve.

You noticed the gas mileage in the matter of a day? How were you computing the mileage?

Yeah one day is probaly too soon to see about the gas mileage. I think i might of just floated the valves like ultra z said cuz the car seems to be running perfectly normal.

Sounds like maybe you just released the clutch a little early and tried to push it into gear without the clutch engaged. That would make a similar sound and normally produce no real side effects, but doesn't exactly explain the missing. Just an idea

ima guess you may have broke a transmission mount and the missing was all in your head and you were just being paranoid. i dont know why every one keeps saying over rev. you cant over rev the rev limited. just a guess but looking at your mod list in your sig ima say your car is pretty stock correct? no tune?
