Default Gibson Catback

So after weeks, months really, trying to decide on an exhaust ive finally decided to go with the gibson. i always like to be different and i know that not a lot of fbody owners have the gibson. ill be getting the stainless one put on my 01 TA in a couple weeks. just wondered what you guys thought (ive already searched and read all the threads about gibson on the site already) but wanted to see what you all knew about rasp/drone, difference in stock. from what i can tell it is a lot deeper and cackles more, with screams at high rpms. the only other mods i plan to do to the car are ypipe and headers, maybe gears. how will the gibson work with these mods? appriciate all the help and info!

Dont be different to be different, that gets you no where. Not knocking the gibson catback at all but the popular ones are usually popular for good reason.

When I hear Gibson exhaust I think of a truck, not a Trans Am.

I have one on my 8.1 liter truck.....the truck was used and came with the exhaust. It has a low rumble and NO cackle whatsoever. I would NEVER buy one for the sound. I don't think it sounds good even on a truck...

JMHO of course....

A lot is going to depend on if you keep the cats on. They make a big difference in getting rid of the rasp.
