Default I need help LQ9/LS3 build

im building up a 1967 Nova and wanting to do an LS motor swap. I have accumulated some parts for my build but need help specing what works with what. Here's what I have so far....

1. LQ9 stock block

2. LS3 heads ( POCKET PORTED )

3. LS3 stock intake, injectors and fuel rail.

I am wanting a hot little street motor but not too big to where I can drive the car on cruises. I want a/c and a stall around 2800. Here is what I need specs for ....

1. Cam size - LQ9's have flat top pistons. What is maximum lift before I have to change out the pistons. If I need to change pistons what do in need and what is the best brand for price ?

2. I want to run stock LS3 injectors which I think are 42lbs. What is the max cam before I have to change injectors.

3. OK if you had what I have, what would you do ?

Thanks

Dale

If I had your combination...which I do, I'd call Geoff@eps for a cam...which I did. He'll hook you up.

IMO: If you were going to run N/A, I would source an LS3 block. This will be about 90lbs lighter and a bit more cubes. Better weight transfer, handling and a gain between .1 to .2.

He actually makes trips into Houston every now and then. Lots of solid cars running around town with his touch.

Agreed on the save up for a full LS3 longblock. Less weight with more power, hard to look past that.
