Anyone Still Daily Their 4th gen?
Hey guys just sold my daily which was a VW and started using my ‘02 T/A as a daily. I’ve had the car for over ten years but it’s sat for several years. Has 82k and just a slp catback. I’ve got some spark plugs on the way so I’m gonna do a tune up. Only getting about 260 miles a tank but I think that’s average for an ls1. Car is a4 and 3:23. It’s only been a few days but my commute is 100 miles round trip so I might end up getting another 4 banger. Does anyone else still daily their 4th gen?

Thanks. Mine has just over 94k and probably needs some suspension upgrades also. Definitely doesnt ride like a Cadillac but ok for going on 17 years old. I just pick 1 or 2 things a year income tax time to make the car better.

I still used one of mine as a regular driver until 2014 when I sold it. I would absolutely consider it again, but only for the spring/summer/fall because I feel bad about the deterioration that mine experienced over the winter months/conditions. I just like these cars too much to ever "use up" another one in the harsh winters here.

I drive my 1998 v6 firebird every day. My ta is a may to October weekend show car and my 2002 formula is my garage queen.

Every day!! I have about a 25 mile round trip to work and back!! Houston doesn't see the winter to much..... now in the rain I try my best to not drive or wait it out...... puddles long tubes and 02 sensors are not friends. For the record I'm seeing about 250 miles a tank.

These cars are easy to drive in the snow (unless maybe you live in a rural or mountainous area that rarely gets plowed), you just need to have dedicated, true snow/ice tires in a narrow size and some extra weight in the trunk. I did this for thousands of miles in every type of urban winter weather imaginable. I wouldn't hesitate to do it again, except for the deterioration that the car suffers and my unwillingness to subject another one to that.

I bought a 98 Z28 right when they first came out. It was my daily for 5 years, and had about 100k when I sold it. Only mods were a K&N filter and Flowmaster catback. Had a dedicated snow tire and wheel setup, and never had an issue in the snow. I really miss that car as my daily

Every day! Been dailying it since April 2010, got it with 52k, sitting at 123k now. Usually average about 20mpg a tank. Only seen snow once since I've owned it, which was two weeks ago.
I'll get a new daily eventually

Yep. 14 years and counting, not to mention the LT1 cars I had before. Experienced my first real mechanical troubles in the past couple of months @ 158k, working on getting them resolved. But for all the times I beat on the thing at the strip and around town, can't complain!
Winter isn't too much of an issue here in southern Kansas, bolt on the snow tires for a couple of weeks and that's it.
