A fuel pump and a fuel pressure gauge/kit cost about the same. If you check the fuel pressure first, you will see that you need a new fuel pump. The end result is the same either way.

For the record, I'll just say that I categorically disagree with the flawed logic behind this general advice (especially based on the details of the OP's specific instance). But, to each his own.

I see a lot of people talking about 2.73 but for the record i wanna make it clear my car has 3.23 which would make my situation a bit worse i believe.

Either way, the earlier advice in this thread is still spot on - checking fuel pressure under load and making sure the MAF is at least clean (with no physical intake blockage either) are great first steps if you think there is a power problem. But, keeping in mind that there's also a recent header install in the mix, it could be related to poor O2 sensor operation as well (already fatigued sensors getting worse since being moved to the headers or an exhaust leak somewhere near or before the sensors causing false readings, to name a couple). You could look at some additional data (such as fuel trims, etc.) if you have access to a comprehensive scanner.

Strange that we'd have such different experiences with generally the same car. When stock, my 2.73 '98 would even squeal them a bit if shocked hard from up to a 5-10mph roll, and that was with brand new 275mm BFG KDW tires on a 9" wide wheel. From a stop, an equally hard shock would result in significant traction loss. Things didn't really change in this regard with the addition of an air lid and catback. My 2.73 '02 generally experienced the same traction loss from a stop, but did grip better from a very slow roll (also on 275mm BFGs, though these wheels were a bit heavier and wider at 9.5").
