Default Getting car to hook up

I have a 98 SLP. Low mileage and has been taken care of. Really having trouble getting it to hook up. Anything I do to the car I want to make sure it can be reversed years down the road when my son gets it. As of now I have switched to a Moser 12 bolt. 3:91 gears. Running 315/35 ZR 17’s. Six speed. I am using Spohn lower control arms. A Spohn adjustable torque arm. Car will not even think about hooking up. First and second gear is useless. I’ve tried every trick in the book that I have learned through the years. Short shifting you name it. Maybe it might be just a simple as running a better tire. I have some Mickey Thompson ET streets that I switch sometimes. But they are too sticky and throw rocks on the car. I run Nitto tires daily. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I know there are some knowledgeable people in this group. And a lot of you are willing to help. Wondering if shocks might be the way to go. And I also would like to have a recommendation for a good street tire many ways. Because the ones on the car are starting to get to the point of being replaced. Sorry I get so winded. But if anybody made it this far through the conversation, again any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Do not want to cut the car up. Thank you my fellow LS

Low mileage 98 SS SLP options,6 speed

LCA relocation brackets, good double adjustable shocks, and a 15" rear wheel/tire (more sidewall) would be a good start.

LCA relocation and lower tire pressure. Any chance you have unlisted power mods? Stock power shouldn't have trouble hooking up on concrete.

Tires, the rocks are not hitting your quarter's.
I run Hoosier Dr2 all the time and have zero chips on the quarter's

^ Yep the rocks are just hitting your inner fenders and not hurting anything. Tires are going to have a bigger effect than all the other parts you can throw on it. Those Mickeys ought to be good enough get traction in general street use. You'll have to get more serious if you want to really dead hook and launch your M6 at the strip.

I'm pushing 425 to the wheels on 315 sumitomo street tires. When I rip it I can semi-lose traction into 1st and second but they hook enough to keep me straight and rocketing forward. I have 3.42 gears though. Hard to believe your loosing that much traction on stock engine unless the tires are just FUBAR.

I am lowered 1.5 inches with adjustable pan hard, beefier sway bars and LCA with LCA relocation brackets.

funny thing is i'm having the same problem with my nitto's. I have 462hp at rear tires and i'm having problems with traction. I do have staggered tires and lowered suspension but also relocation brackets. I think i need to try to take some air out the tires. it's weird cause the back end feels so light.

Try 12 psi in low profile rear tires, works pretty good with NT05R and much more power than 4XX hp.

Ditto. You need tires that can get a bite and then suspension that can plant those tires and keep them planted.
