I think you will get pulled... But you just need minimal mods to keep up with him.. But then again as soon as he mods the cobra hes going to be making tons of power too

If both are stock and the guy in the cobra is not retarded and at least knows how to drive then he will drag you pretty bad...stock 03 cobra > stock SS and just so you know every cobra ever made since 1993 has only been available with a manual transmission, factory automatic cobras do not exist...if its for pinks dont do it!!! lol you will be walking home

I have said before, and I'll say it again: If you are going to mess with 03/04 Cobras you better be packing some heat (not the free mods and a lid).

As much as I hate Mustangs yeah the Cobra will smoke you unless your fairly heavily modded. But if you think of it like this, you can get a 50-60k mile Z28 or SS for 8-10k or so... and throw a Procharger Heads/Cam, rear, tranny, suspension etc., and you have a 18-20k car pushing 500+ HP car that will smoke almost any 03-04 Cobra. Why buy the Cobra when u can Mod the LS1 and own them? Cobra's are rarley found under 20k price tag.

not to hijack yur thead. but how about "WHAT KIND OF MODS" to run with a cobras. most cobra owners are either stock or do the pulley mod that puts them bout 460-470ish.. so what mods would us ls1 guys need to hang with them or pull on them? A4 and M6 guys?

Anyway they like it. Sometimes I win, sometimes I lose. Regardless of the outcome, I still sleep well at night.

In my experience you will need FULL boltons (350rwhp) to keep up with a stock or near stock cobra thats in the 400-420rwhp range. You will need (400rwhp) in order to keep up with a pullied or pullied and bolton cobra they are usually in the 440-480rwhp range.

With my mods in sig i ran dead even with a pullied cobra with exhaust and intake work. He claimed 490rwhp, but i was thinking more like 450-470rwhp.
When I just had bolt-ons and had 350rwhp i ran even with catback and intake cobra making around 400rwhp.
Just my experience with them....they make sick power with minimal mods!

My money would be on the cobra stock for stock, ive always been a GM guy but if I could afford a 03/04 cobra id be at the ford dealership trading in my camaro right now. I talked a few ford guys that have owned well over 25 different mustangs and they all say that the 03/04 cobra is by far the best and is on its own level.

But I still love my LS1

Those 03-04 Cobras are damn fast. Heavy, but still fast. The IRS really hinders them on the launch, but once they get going, they go like hell and don't stop.

Stock for stock with drivers being relatively equal, a stock LS1 F-body will lose to a stock 03-04 Cobra every time. Even more so if the LS1 is paired to an automatic, then its just rape.

However, with mods on the LS1, it can be a different story. We all know LS1's respond awesome to bolt ons, and with the right setup, a bolt on LS1 can hang with or even beat an S/C Cobra, especially if the Cobra is stock. Of course Cobras are easy to mod as well, and they can be bumped up by over 50HP with just a simple pulley change.

Give em a run, and let us know the outcome
