Z28 or Trans Am?

Cool Z28 or Trans Am?

Hi I was just wondering which f-body yall prefer.. Z28 or TA? I like Z28's personally. People tell me TA's fall apart more than Z28s but who knows... I think the Z28 is the best though

Its all about what you prefer. For me it had to be a trans am. I wouldn't drive a camaro. MAYBE a black SS - but i'd rather have any TA.

they all hava LS1's though.

They're the same car, with different sheet metal...

Anyway, I've got a T/A, but then, I've always been a Pontiac guy. It's just a matter of preference.

It is all a personal choice. I don't think one is made better than the other, they are all products of the General so they are good. I like Camaro's better.

Although the T/A is a nice looking car, I think other pontiac cars can be ugly. I like the name chevy over pontiac so the camaro takes it. Plus, a T/A without a WS6 hood looks lame, but a Z28 looks great the way it is, and the Camaro has more appearance potential.

If you would have searched for 10 seconds, you would find plenty of threads on this topic.

The difference is ONLY cosmetic. Some prefer the smooth lines of the camaro, some prefer the in your face look of the Birds.

Its like asking whats better, Ketchup or Mustard.

the insurance co. labels them formula / trans am. As in both fall in the same catagory due to the drive train. Not as in there the same car

I agree TA's are awesome!! The only Camaro I would get would have to be a SS!
*But if your like the previous owner of my car you will mix the two!!! ? lol

Yeah neither is "better", "faster" or "more reliable" than the other, and this topic has been beaten to death around here. If you're trying to decide between the two, I'd suggest doing what I did. Go into it with an open mind, shop around, look at 15-20 (minimum) before you settle on anything. And let nature take it's course and make your decision based on condition, mileage, value/price, warranty, rarity of the option package, how much you know about it's history, transmission you're happy with, color you like, etc. You'll know the right car when you see it. People here will bicker back and forth and claim total loyalty to whichever model they have, but let's face it...there's no way you can love one but be dissatisfied ending up the other if it's a low mileage gem in a nice color and the price is right.

Everyone summed it up pretty well. Obviously I went with the Z28 because thats what I wanted and its by far my favorite fbody. It all comes down to personal preference. And yes this topic has been beaten to death.

When I was looking for a car it was either a SS or WS6. There was zero leaning on one side or the other. I still love TA's just as much as I do the Camaros.

And, yes, i'm trying to decide between the 2.. my dad says i shouldn't get a Trans AM.. dunno why, because I like them almost just as well.. my cousin says "oh its a pontiac they fall apart" and my other friend said his friend has a Firehawk and that thingi s a PIECE.. so i dont know whether to believe them or just do what I want and say screw what they say lol

the Camaro has more appearance potential.
definately true. the TA really only has one look and you can make camaro's look anyway you want it to look. around here though you see less TA's on the road than you do camaro's which is kinda cool.
