Default I just bought some oil, this is the German stuff correct. Pics inside

The front of the bottle says:
Castrol Syntec European Formula SAE 0w30 Full Synthetic

The numbers on the bottom say:
M060446ATW18066

And on the back it says “Made in Germany”, just like this picture:

Only thing you need to see is 0W-30 on the front and "Made in Germany" on the back. There are at least 2 different bottle styles out there but the above is all that matters.

yes, run it all year round. it's a 0W-30, so it's excellent in the winter time. i believe it can be started up unaided at up to -40*F, not that you'll EVER see the temperatures. it's also quite thick, nearing a 40 weight at full operating temps so it's very good to run in the summer and under performance applications, also. it's also very resistant to shearing unlike mobil 1 oils that shear easily in comparison.

realize it DOES NOT have to say "european formula". sometimes, autozone gets GC 0W-30 that appears in the regular syntec bottle without saying "european formula". this is fine. the only requirement is that it says "Made In Germany" on the back. european formula is optional.

Now, lets hear how your valvetrain noise/ect. is affected. Are you one of the ones GC will make louder, or quieter. Im curious.

I think the only thing about this oil is that you dont burn off more oil by the time of the next oil change. Theres not a single problem with Mobile 1, noone ever has a problem with it. and with all the stock-light bolton cars on here, I dont think a special oil is needed.

Mobile 1 is a perfectly fine oil. Im not going out of my way to get this stuff just so my next oil change the oil level is a 1/8 of an inch higher on the dipstick.

BTW- Im the guy that just put the oil into this guys car, and I cant tell a difference in it from sound to performance....
