I cannot answer that directly. I can tell you that I put in Mobil 1 75W 140 after I bought the car last year. As far as I know, there have been no problems.

IMO U should be fine.....most peeps tend to go with a lil thicker rear end fluid, shouldn't be a problem at all

Off topic I know, how do/did you go about changing the rear fluid?

Easy. Pop the rear cover off, drain it (I spray it out with brake parts cleaner as well), clean the cover and mounting surfaces, then put a bead of RTV around the cover and snug it back down. Then remove the pipe plug on the side of the diff case and refill it with fluid until it's level with the hole. Reinstall the pipe plug and you're done.

75w-90 is what is recommended but you won't hurt anything with the heavier oil.

How often should the fluid be changed? I may consider changing it some weekend this winter... and what about changing the gear oil in the T56? How simple is it and should I do it? I'd like to switch to Redline.

I changed the tranny fluid in the 4T60-e in my '92 Z34 but that was an auto so I know how to do that. Never changed fluid in a manual.

Drain/fill, there are 2 pipe-thread plugs, how much simpler could it be

Even simpler than an auto... I love it. What's the best way to fill it back up? I can't see a funnel working too well under the car. I'm wondering the same thing about the diff. too. I can't see how easy it would be to fill either.

Attatch a hose to the diff-fluid bottle nossel (press it over)

As to the tranny, hose from the engine bay to the tranny and funnel in the hose worked on my friends 06 GTO

I've got a siphon/pump that they use to fill up the gearcase on a Johnson Outboard. Works great and you can pickum up about anywhere for cheap!

the first three times i did my clutch swap, i pulled the center console (not very hard at all) and used a funnel with a hose attached run in the fill port of the tranny. now (read: the last two times i did my clutch swap), i just pull the shifter, and fill it thru there. i use synthetic tranny fluid, i cant remember which brand and im too drunk to get off my lazy *** to go to the garage to find out. if i find this thread tommorrow, ill post the brand...

(ps - i did the clutch swap five times due to parts failing because centerforce daul friction clutches are SHITTY, SHITTY, SHITTY, SHITTY, SHITTY, SHITTY, SHITTY, SHITTY, SHITTY, SHITTY clutches, not my fault on the intalls. just thought i should clarify since im drunk, and im probably not making sense...)

(pss - dont EVAR run centerforce dual friction clutches in an LS1/T56 combo. they SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!
