is stolen around midnight and you don't realize it until the morning,
by then the car could end up in Mexico.
2. 2way Pager: $300-$400 Dollars
Pro: You'll know when the car is opened as it happens.
Cons: Even if you do know, hopefully you come out and scare them off, but unless you have backup (Friends, Good neighbors) you put yourself in danger.
I'm shooting more for the pager to begin with, you can try to help the situation by scaring them off. I'll eventually get both to feel more secure.

You likely did the right thing. Even if you could have taken them Cali would have butt raped you. Texas is about the only state you can protect your property nowadays.
In your place, I'd to slam a flat bladed screwdriver through the guys ear into his brain but realize I'd go to jail for doing so. People should be able to protect there property using deadly force but in the US that is not the case.
Thieves **** me off.

They have an option for LoJack (1200, not 1000) that does call you if the alarm is activated, so you will know as soon as somebody tampers with the car. you call the cops then (if you see the car missing) and they will track it when they get the LoJack 'hit'. see it all the time here and anyone who knows stats, NJ has one of the highest stolen car rates in the country.

I think you did the right thing (legally speaking) by avoiding any engagements with the enemy. Its a shame that you had to take your rims off because of it though. Really though, having some sort of weapon in the house might be useful incase they come back and things get uglier.

go to the local friendly gunstore and pick up two guns with ammo. wait for them to come back...shoot em with one gun and plant the other gun(serial numbers scratched off) on the thug, make sure to fire a few shots with the planted gun. call your local authorities and claim self-defense, f-body owner 1 p.o.s. carjacker 0.
on a serious note i think you did the right thing. id invest in some type of weapon for self-defense along with the pager. when the pager goes off take your weapon and make a citizens arrest.

actually if your going to shoot them you have to kill them. In the state of Texas you are able to protect your property by means neccessary. But it you shoot them and they are able to recover they will probally sue you and most likely win. Great justice system we have huh, if they are unable to recover ( ****** dies ) then he can't sue you. LOL thats how you do it. "Use something big you don't want them to limp away from this ****" < Ron White just a litte different.

+1 to shooting them as well, i know i would if they tried to steal my car...
or you could just keep a live cougar that hasn't been fed for a couple days in your car <Ricky Bobby
