So I walked out of the gates of my apt. building and noticed a car parked too close to my ride last night. Right away I knew they were up to something because one of the guys pretended to be looking for something in his car. These ******* were trying to steal my freaking car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I looked back at them again after I noticed the trim on the car pushed in where they stuck the "Slim Jim" and asked "Did you need something from my car??, because I can make it easier for you since I have the keys."

These guys were idiots. They didn't even try to burn the alarm first, I guess he thought he would pop the lock and then take care of the alarm. Fortunately, I came out just in time to catch them. But now I'm wondering if these guys will try to come back any time soon. I'm not sure what they were looking for but I'm thinking maybe my sound system.

Anyways, long story short, do you guys think they'll be back??????
I already took some precautions and pulled the entire system and the wheels off, everything is back to stock. My insurance doesn't cover anything more than stock.

Would I get arrested if I shoot these ******* for trying to steal my car??

Holy ****. In Cali you will be court ordered to give the car over complacently because the miscreants trying to steal it are doing it only because of a painful childhood and limited opportunity later in life.

see now what you do in this type of situation is take down their license plate number and call the police. I dunno, just makes sense to me.

I called them right away, I saw 3 or 4 units patrolling the area shortly after. I don't think they can do much about it since my car would have been one of 10,000 stolen in Los Angeles County.

But like BLKWS.6 said, I'd probably get sued for hitting them over the head with a crow bar. They'd probably claim that they were influenced by "Gone in 60 Seconds".................and win the case.

I really did say that, the guy on the passenger side replied "No, but do you have any money?". You have no idea how much I wanted to approach the car and pull his *** out, but it was two of them and I would have probably had my *** handed to me by both of them, even worse, they may have been "packing"

What do you suggest I should have done?

I just thought I'd would be better for me to keep my car last night, rather than getting my *** kicked for trying to prove a point and still have my car taken.

Should have gotten licsence plate, if your that worried about set up a hidden camera(night vision) they have kits to adapt to your cam corder and it turns on when seeking motion. That and also Motion fog lamps outside.

They may not come right away(if they were smart) but they will be back eventually.

Maybe in Illinois getting beaten or shot classifies you as a man, but here in L.A. I'm not ready to die for a car

I called the PD right away with the description, and the plates. One of the officers advised that, "technically", it was only an intent to steal the car. They didn't actually get in, their was nothing missing, nothing damaged, I couldn't even file a police report.

So if I "Intend" to kill the ******* if they come back, I'm justified right???

Took a look in getting something like this, comes with a free kit to turn your vcr on for recording by motion sensing, and I would hide the camera VERY discreetly. Also put up some motion sensing foglamps which will help increase the effeciency of the motion sensing system and the image quality.

Id get one for my car but im 21, live with my parents(when not at school), and my dads a cop..

I took them off for the meantime, since I wouldn't want to get jacked for the car with everything else that I've put into it. So I'll probably have to post them up soon, not sure.

I was in court a few weeks ago and there was a guy getting sentenced for just having the tools to break into a car. So if they were using a slim jim or even a screw driver and the cops pulled them over after you called they could get into some trouble. just a thought.
