Parents hate your car?

My dad loves my truck. He and I did the LS1 swap into it and he has been a car guy forever. Hes owned countless muscle cars, around 25 corvettes, and he currently has a 66 427bb stingray and a 66 LT1 swapped pro-street Nova.
We are actually planning to put a narrowed rear and a 4 link under my truck in a few months when I get some more $$ saved up.
My mom actually doesn't seem to care too much. My dad is the one that warns me about the dangers because he actually knows what my little black truck is capable of where as my mom is kind of in the dark on the whole matter.
I'm still working on trying to convince my mom to let me park my truck in the garage but no luck yet . Although it doesn't bother me that much because when I was wanting to do the engine swap over last summer I was alittle too short on cash to buy the super low-mileage engine/trans I found so she loaned me some money so that I could buy it and pay her back!
All-in-all my parents are awesome. I'm really quite suprised they trust me as much as they do since I just turned 18 a few months ago.

Well, to be true to the thread....when I bought the car my dad said "I thought you were smarter than that". But at 43, I don't really care if he approves or not
On the other hand...I am a parent of a kid who owns a 2000 Z28 (we helped him get) and an owner of a 2002 Ws6, so I guess I'd have to say I more than like my sons car. Of course we have a competitive spirit between the two of us over the cars.
He hates that I get more comments and "jaw dropping" on the red Ws6 than he gets, but he insists he's faster. His car does seem to ride smoother than mine though.
I have to say though, when we are both driving in town together, we create quite a stir. People just can't seem to contain themselves and start reving their ricers wanting to race LOL
I do have to add though, as a mother, I do worry a bit that he'll kill himself in that car, but hey, he could do the same in any car he drove.
I also want to add that in our home we DO NOT own cars or trucks that don't have a V8!

Mine love my cars...
They took out the loan when I was 17 so I could get my '69. Then last year when I was 19 they added to the loan so I could get a '70 Chevelle, then I sold it and bought my '67 which my Dad wasn't going to let me not get.
I'm lucky, I just wish they were loaded so that instead of me having to pay loans they could just buy them for me

Well my parrents say they hate my car and how big of a waste of money it has been in my life so far- want me to buy a house 2 years after college in South Florida- I am from Indiana where that is actually possible, and where they still live. When ever my parents come to visit my dad will always ask for the keys and tells me to never sell it as he wish he would of kept his 69 SS. Cars paid for and I can still get around 240-250 miles per tank.

My Mom wasnt to happy when my Dad and I snuck off and bought my '79 T/A, she thought it was a little overboard for a 17 year old. Then when I bought my 99 T/A they both had a fit, kept telling me I was going to get myself killed. Now I cant keep them away, they always want to take the Fbods when I come home, and before I deployed a few weeks ago they were both negotiating for the SS. Probably dont have much tread left now.

Hey, I just got my 01 ws.6 tuesday, my dad is a mopar guy, has a few 6-pack cars, so he always riding me bout being into gm's. And he doesnt like that im in debt at 18 but other than that he likes it. He claims he is going to steal my remote start off it but i dont see that happening. My mom on the other hand, isnt liking it very much. Like everyone else, afraid im gonna end up crashing it. I took her for a spin wednesday, turned the TCS off for a sec, she didnt like that. Oh well....they just glad they dont have to hear me telling them the "did you know's" of the F-bodies that they have had to listen to since i was 16....but i love the car and its everything i expected it would be and thats all that matters!!!
