Sell My WS6 for GTO?
Hey guys, ive done alot of searching about the differences between the ls2 GTO and the ls1 ws6. I drive a 2000 WS6 M6 and i freaking love it. I have a killer system, C5 rims and an slp lid. Here is where my question comes. im at about 92,000 miles on the bird. I've got white smoke coming out of my exaust when i idle for a couple of minutes. I've replaced my window motors twice and ive have my transmission worked on. I want something more reliable and the GTO has caugh my attention. Should I do an overhaul on my WS6 or should i buy an '04 GTO and sell my love? I'm 18 years old and my gal and all of my friends love my ride, it's a big part of my life. I also love my system and I must be able to jam when i drive, no question. Please help me you guys. ls1tech is the best place to have a question like this answered.

I just finished a search that was basically the same as yours. My f-body had 218,000mi so I needed something with more life left.
It's not a bad idea to find something that has low mileage if you drive a lot, so if that's giving you problems, you're on the right track. Also you can at least remove some of that system to use in the next vehicle. Just buy a cheap head unit and install it in your current car.
My opinion as to what to replace your car with, however, would be more bias than of use.

OK one thing to remember is the GTO wont be any faster b/c it weights more ALOT of GTO's I see at the track actually do worse then my F body when it was stock, All in all lookin at the cars the GTO's are alot nicer meaning the interior and no T top ratle or anything like that, If you just lookin to go fast Id keep your F body but If you want a better DD Id do the GTO.....FWIW if I could afford a GTO I would be driving one
And if thats your White on in the pics, those rims kinda look more like firehawk rims opposed to C5 rims

i would keep the ws6.
and if you really want the GTO, get 05+
and then sell me you ws6. lol
ot: the wheels look weird cuz the tires look to skinny for the rim's width

it shouldnt be slower, but it won't be faster either
It has more power, but wieghs more, the GTO also has a much nicer interior.
Definitely don't sell your system with your car, buy a cheap head unit and take yours out, also take your subs out. If you still have the stock speakers i would even put those back in.
If you have the money, i guess go with the GTO.

If I still had my TA, I would trade it for an '04 goat in a heartbeat, sometimes a car still needs to be used as a car, and the GTO is much better all around. Of course, if the LS2 goat was in your price range it would be a no-brainer.

Your WS6 looks really nice, its really up to you. The white smoke is probably just oil burning that either came from the intake, or maybe your rings are getting a lil worse for the wear, although I doubt that. You may solve that problem by just a catch can, worth a shot. GTO's are great cars, very nice, but I just wouldn't want to get in that kind of debt at 18, I have bigger plans. I would keep your WS6, its nice.

just the stock gt's that think they're bad *** that their mommie bought for them. I have much respect for people that understand cars and pay from their own wallet.
