Mustang vs F-body?

I cant diss the cobra's, cause they can beat an f-body. Then you could look at it a diff. way. If you were to put a supercharger on a ls1, the cobra wouldnt stand a chance. Therefore, having just a gt and a ls1, the ls1 would own it!

The 4.6 is anywhere from a 260-305 hp motor, with 290-300 tq.

Mustang VS Camaro raged, rages now, and always will rage. It spawns factory and aftermarket advances and spurs tons of capitol spending (think about just mustang and camaro specific sales, race events, marketing, meets, aftermarket, merchandising, etc...) and each makes each other a better product in the end. I drive a foxbody mustang because its a natural drag chassis basically out of the box, and I can squeeze more 1/4 performance per dollar out of it than any other car. The GM cars have their virtues as well, but I'm not interested in them.

another ls1 vs. stang debate.....i guess its time to **** of a few more people....
i dont understand why the ford gt keeps getting brought up. thats irrelevant but i 'll get back to that.
i thought this debate was base f-body vs. base stang. let me shed some light on that battle. its not even a close race between the two. stock gts are pigs and i know because ive raced them. they get owned from a dig, ehich yes is more driver dependant but they will get owned nonetheless. from a roll its just silly. now people are saying that it isnt fair to compare the two because of the difference in displacement. is it my fault that ford decided to develop a 4.6 in order to compete with a 5.7 liter? is it my fault that my 02 s10 with the 4.3 is almost as big as the stang engine and on street tires would only be alittle behind?
comparing apples to apples is almost impossible because the base engines of the two companies vary so greatly. i love the old "the terminator will kill an f-body" god damn thats a revelation isnt it? its got a supercharger blowing in 8 pounds.
Mach 1s and base f-bodies are a good match up because they have similar numbers and atleast mach 1s can hold their own for a while.

need i bring up the car and driver issue where they put the stang owners wet dream up against a c6?
only .6 of a liter differenc this time becauseof the god like 5.4 liter ford took from the gt. what else was there.....Oh yeah, a BLOWER running 8.5 psi.
both are 6 speeds, both around the same price.
there is a weight difference yes but if i recall the only speed category the gt500 bested the c6 (not z06) in was like 50-70mph lane change.
i hate to sound like the typical f-body owner but that is pathetic.
and everyone likes terminators, even if you're brand loyal.
what was the point of this again.......................

Not true. They perform VERY fairly but the cost involved in just bolting on a blower onto an LS1 is considerable to be able to handle 25lbs of boost where you can do that with ANY 03-04 Cobra.
I have had both cars, about 8 of each over the years.
Totally different in every way. Build is better in the Ford but Chevy more than makes up for it in the modabiliity of the LS1.
LS1 hydo clutch sucks most of the time. No room for duals. Crap rear out of an S10..?? Oh and the good ol hump in the floor.
Modability of the LS1
Mustang is a bit low in power due to smaller engine size and OHC but that is only compared to the LS1. Look at hp/ltr and they are very similar in power.
350hp/5.7=61.4 HP/LTR stock LS1
300hp/4.6=65.2 HP/LTR stock GT
Smaller engines breath smaller ammounts of air.
This wouldnt be a post if the LT1 was still the only GM performance engine, but the LS1 is that great and makes MOST cars look tame.
Atleast we have choices. Im scared the new Camaro will top 3700lbs.

The "Hurricane" series engines, but I beleive they are modular style motors?? It got developed, put on hold, and now they are bringing it back for a test run in the next gen Fseries, and if that passes with flying colors, putting it in performance apps.
Again, both have benefits, both have drawbacks. Its a matter of taste, people who stick through brand loyalty and play with cars that are junk or just ill-suited for their purposes are idiots. If Mustangs couldn't do what I wanted, I'd drive something else that did.

No one used to believe me that between an LS1 F-body and a 99-01 Cobra that it was a drivers race. But I have numerous LS1 kills to prove that wrong.

But then again I don't race from a dig EVER! So from a dig with all that damn wheel hop they are at a big disadvantage. But from a low roll they hook up really good because of the powerband.
