someone said the GTO with boltons are 340-360 whp...??? more like they are 340 stock. A bolt on LS1 would reach a potential of 360 or more... Id take a GTO and put a maggie on it and be done with it.

Yes,the cobra is a mod-friendly car,definitely.And as I said earlier,if someone just wants to go fast,the cobra's it.If someone has a family and wants to have fun with them too,the gto's it.
To say the gto is not even in it's class is just ignorant.They're both fast cars,giving an edge to the cobra,but I absolutely love my goat.

^^^ Good point about carting others around. I've been in the back of my friend's V6 02 stang (how much different can dimensions be?), and the back of my friend's '06 on a long drive to the track. I'm 6'2 180 (not by any means large, but still somewhat tall), and the backseat was incredibly comfortable, this sitting behind the driver who is same height. I'd almost call the GTO a 2-door sedan (great room for 4, with 2 doors). Just my .02

i like the style of the gto better. i kind of consider it the under dog and i always root for the under dog. stock for stock, i would take the cobra though. better platform for upgrades. but if you put a S/C on the LS2, then im back in the game. i voted GTO.

But only if I had more cubes and higher compression. 
Make sure you put a bullshit Eaton blower on there. Or...put a good
blower on it. I think you'd find that you would not be in the game.

what was the price of the cobra brand new?i own a 06 gto and the only thing the cobra got over the goat is speed out of the dealer.imo the gto is the best over all but no the fastes stock vs stock.

I just bought an m6 06 GTO...any 03 cobra with a couple of parts should kill it. My old 12.0 TA would tear it's *** clean off. Honestly, the 2 cars are so different, I don't know what the hell the point of this poll was.
That said, I get buttloads of attention while driving it, people are always commenting on it or asking what it is, and I don't have to see 6 other GTOs on my way to work everyday. It's really comfortable, handling is way better than my LS1 TA, it's decently quick, and I get 28mpg on the highway. It doesn't rattle my teeth out or kill my back like my TA did. If I had to pick between an 03 cobra or an 05-06 GTO, I would pick the GTO every time. It just suits me better as a DD since I have to drive 70 miles a day for work. Now if I wanted to gut the hell out of a car and go for the 9s, of course I would take the cobra.
