next mod: Headers or Sunoco hood?
Here's my problem....I only have money for one big mod this summer and I'm not sure which one to do. I am thinking of staying with more visual than performance mods on my Z28 because I've already got a nasty street/strip car and I don't wanna performance mod the Z too much while I am still making payments on it. That being said....do I go with Hooker ceramic coated long tubes and a catted Y pipe and a tune or a Sunoco hood?
I figure, by the time I get the hood painted I will be around the same price as the headers, coating, Y pipe and tune. I can have the hood painted for $275 by a local body shop that did my Grand National.
Which do I do?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Since you already have a go fast ride, and you live in IL. I would say go with the hood. I know cops don't like loud exhaust and will give you a ticket for it.
The hood will definatly set that car off.

rims are coming after I sell the stock motor out of my Grand National....chrome Z06s are in my future.
I'm still leaning toward the hood...all I have is a slp flopac induction kit, billet grille, and Magnaflow catback (the cops already eyeball me with this)

dude it's really your choice if you want performance more than looks get the headers and if you want appearance more than performance than get the headers. But in the long run i think you should go with the headers becasue once you buy the hood you have to pay for paint and installation

the Grand National is my bracket racing/nasty street car....which is why I am trying to limit the mechanical mods to the Z28. The GN runs solid consistent 11.40s on pump gas with 25-28 pounds of boost on 26x9 ET Street tires. I've got the potential for 10s with alcohol or race gas and slicks...I keep coming back to the Sunoco hood dammit...
anyway, drool on these GN pics for a bit if you want...and tell me what you think!
