Would those look better than the stock 98 painted wheels? Im considering the new wheels even though theyre polished, dunno if its worth 450 though

Not chrome. I personally liked the 01 and earlier WS6 rims with the skinnier spokes. They would look better than the stock painted rims though.

None of the 17" WS6 wheels were ever chrome on the '98-'02 cars from the factory.

I had a set of factory '96-'00 style chromed. The shine is much better than the polished wheels. Here's what they look like in chrome:

ditto.

I replaced my polished 98 wheels with the chrome version like the post above, it looks WAY better than the polished.

The speedline rims polish sucks compared to the older ones in polished. They have a thick clear cote, and it looks hazy.

I actually bought a second set of wheels from a place on-line (non-sponsor) that had already been chromed. I sold the factory wheels later.

I think I paid something like $290 per wheel (new wheel + chrome finish). That was back in '03 though.

So is it worth $450, assuming the tires are in good condition? My friend said he'd buy my current stockers for $150 plus his system (2 10's, 600 watt amp, ported box) so id only be paying around $200
