Guess my HP... (dyno results on 12th)
Well my last dyno had me at 306HP corrected. Next dyno is on May 12th and there are two official mods added since then.
Ported throttle body, and exhaust.
Exhaust consists of QTP headers, magnaflow cats, 3 inch true duals, x-pipe.
We all heard the claims of 30-40 HP. While it may be nice to gain that much, do any of you honestly believe that those claims are possible with longtubes alone?
Post your thoughts, and we'll have results on the 12th to see how it holds up.
edit: Supporting/restricting mods:
dyno numbers in sig is currently 306 HP is currently with:
LS6 Intake
LS2 Flywheel
LS7 Clutch
SLP Lid

well, a friend of mine put down 360/360 in his 01 formula, and if i remember right, the only thing he has on you is an ls6 intake, but his numbers were also well above average for his mods

325-330ish.
Dyno sheet? Full mod list? There are some cam only guys that don't get that.

I think you gained 25 rwhp from the exhaust and TB. So I am gonna say 331 rwhp. Might be more if you tune it while it's on the dyno. Then I would guess 341 rwhp.

I make numbers in sig with..
SLP Lid
LS6 Intake manifold
Ported TB
Pacesetter LTs
TSP ORY
Borla
Tune
I think you should be close to that ... I'd say 33x rwhp since you have no LS6 intake manifold or tune.

I've added the supporting/restricting mods in my first post.
I do have the LS6 intake and SLP lid, but I have a power robbing LS7 clutch/LS2 flywheel combo that has added quite a bit of rotational drivetrain weight.
The little mods such as tb bypass, egr tube cutoff etc aren't worth mentioning.
So on a 98, we'll see how exhaust (with true duals) would gain.

I made 335 with just pacesetters and True Duals, still has the stock airbox, on a A4 02 T/A. Was misfiring on the Dyno though, didn't have time to change the plugs & wires before the Dyno Day.

it'll differ from dyno to dyno. i'll guess between 320-330. TP bypass and EGR block off don't really do anything. now your planning on gettin a tune right after you get your heard right? if not you wont be to happy with your gain.
remember guys he has a 98, so 00-02 are gonna by higher hp and torque anyway different cam and heads
DON'T FORGET A TUNE!!!!!!!

it'll be at the same dyno to be consistent, hence the 12th.
After looking at the 98 "stock headers" it's easy to see why the 01-02 despite the lower lift cam made more HP.
The driver's side looked like a shortie style header, but the passenger side is a log style header. As I recall the 01-02 models got cast iron manifolds but improved in design over the earlier years. Add in the LS6 intake and you start to picture why it had more hp and torque.
If the stock cam were the only thing different between a 02 similarly modded LS1 and a 98 LS1, shouldn't the 98 show the largest gain with those mods and end up with more or less similar numbers? The theory is the 98 is the more restricted motor intake/exhaust flow wise.
I'll do A/F to see how I stand if I'll need a tune or not, I'd like to hold off on the tune till I can scrounge up the $$ for heads/cam.
