I have a gto. If i could do it over id probably get an F-body. My reason is that the gto is limited in the size of the rear tire, its a bit heavy, and aftermarket parts are more expensive. Both cars are head turners. Its more of a do you want to feel comfortable while driving, or do you want to win races at the track.

I'd get another fbody, because i'm poor and they are cheaper.
And i wouldn't really say the LS2 is more advanced by a LONGSHOT. Just more cubes.

I voted GTO, but it really comes down to personal preference. I like the GTO's fit/finish, the great interior, and the subdued-but-tough looks. And the platform is great as well

I disagree.

I don't see the GTO as any type of a head turner without some expensive exterior mods...even then it doesn't hold a candle to an F-body IMO. That's the biggest problem with it, the looks are so lackluster that it takes an otherwise nice driving/good quality car and really makes it unappealing to many of us.

Yea, I mean I reallyhate to dig on anybody into cars and such, but as much as we nut on each other and such,.. the gto just looks too plain. It looks like any of the other pontiacs out there.. the grand *anything* ones or the G# guys. I really have to kinda take a hard look at each of them to see what it is. cause they all look the same to me.

Perhaps If i had one id be able to tell the difference better.. i mean they are much different compared to the firebird formula and trans am differences

But other than trying to tell if its a gto.. i never ever would look tice at any of those grand gtp whatever cars.

Im sure their quality and ride and performance are decent. they just dont make me look like I look at the f bodies.

why else did they name it the goat )
then again we have the catfish )
What is the bird's nickname?

I agree - My personal taste would vote for the 2002 T/A b/c I don't like the look/etc of Camaros or GTO's but that's my personal opinion

what a good poll. I dont see the cost diff. A clean 02 ss or ws6 with less than 30k miles is in the $ 20k range. A compairable gto is in the same range. go with the 05 or newer as it had the hood scoops, 6.0, and duel tips. way cooler.

I say you could go either way. The F body will most likely be more affordable though so it sounds like that is goin to be the main thing whatever you can afford. If you can afford to spend a lil over 20 get the goat. Rode in one awhile back and it is pretty nice . But good luck with your decision

another thing i have noticed is gto's lsd isnt that good orat least the fluid that comes in our lsds. when i do donuts one wheel smokes like hell and other one just smokes a little. do f-bodies have that issue? we have to change the stock fluid to torco so we can get the two wheel burn. on a straight line gtos fish tail way worse than f-bodies, kinda fun actually but not for the strip

I like the GTO's but I don't think they hold a candle to F-Bodies in terms of appearence, performance and availability of aftermarket parts

didn`t vote because didn`t see what your planning to do with it ...

if you`d like a nice car that rides like new with the dealer warranty with low miles and only planning on few bolt ons that will not void the factory warranty then the GTO.

no point in the GTO if you`ll putting a cam, heads, supercharge, turbo the thing it`ll be cheaper with the f body and they do look better in my opinion and many are still dependable and sharp with low miles.

to me it would only be the dealers warranty that will make me take the GTO ... other than that it`s a 12k or less and build the whole car (heads& cam at least or a 402)... I`ll try to find another method of payment to get a 1999-2000 as you said only 2002 and above.

you want an A4 or an M6 by the way?
