I've got a question. How many of you use your block off plates for the tops (not sure if thats what they are called)? I have never used mine until recently. Now from the inside it feels like a hard top until you take the tops out. Also it keeps the hot summer sun from shining in all day.

I keep mine in all the time, gives you the best of both worlds (hardtop when on, open air driving when off).

I hate them. I have a third-gen T-top car. Drivers side t-top leaked, and now I am having to replace the drivers side floorboard. Third-gens are weak anyway, and the t-tops make it worse. When I was looking for a 4th gen I made sure I found a hardtop.

I hate to break the mood, but I can honestly say I hate t-top cars and I own one. I have had several different cars which came equipped with them, '86 5.0 ford, 90 Iroc, and even a 74 trans am. All have leaked terribly, had sun fade in the interior, and were hotter then hell. Now maybe designing of the t-tops has gotten better but with all the bad experiences I have had with them I would much rather see them gone from my vehicles. I can't ever remember removing the tops on mine and just leave the sun shades on at all times. It sorta feels like gm was half assing it, either you want a hardtop or a convertable. However I will say this, that I am not the person who enjoys top down cars. But to each his own I suppose. Now if only they made a hardtop trans am...

I looked for a long time for a hard top Z28. Never could find one around here. So I finally bought the 98 with t-tops anyway cause it was a good price. Now they fit well and I've never had them to leak so no complaints there. But its gonna hit over 90 degrees today and between the big *** glass rear hatch and these glass t-tops its all I can do to get AC to cool the car down. If it wasn't for the liners between the top of my head and the t-tops I swear the sun could bake your brain. And lets not even talk about if your poor *** gets sunburned at the beach. I had a 72 Corvette that had t-tops but they were fiberglass and were painted the same color as the car. I liked them a hell of a lot better than these glass ones.

I'd have t=tops if they didn't make verts. I'd use them less though, since sometimes I put the top down while I'm driving, I just slow down, like on off-ramps on cool days...\\verts rule\\

I've driven my '97 Z vert since '98 and I had always sworn by it. If it wasn't raining hard then the top was down no matter what. When I test drove my '99 T/A a month ago with T-tops I was hooked. It's like having the air-i-ness of the 'vert without getting completely windblown by the time you get to your destination. Honestly though, I love them both...

T-tops are great, until they come loose on a would-be 11 second pass, and smack you in the head on the way out of the car at the 1000' mark.
Seriously though, other than that one little thing, I love my tops, I need to get around to finding some new shades, since the old ones were lost when the old tops decided to go for a walk.
