I love the t-tops and wouldn't buy an F-body without them.
Also I think the people who have hardtop cars and say they like them just because of the 'rarity' haven't owned a t-top car or they are in denial. Who cares if you have a 'rare' hardtop when t-tops are so much more fun? Rarity does not equal fun in my opinion!

I've owned a hardtop T/A, and now have a t-topped Z28. Love the t-tops way more, and can't imagine going back to a hardtop. I've driven a 'vert and like those too, but I don't like the look of the tops up with them. T-tops give you about a third of the 'vert feel, while preserving the roofline of a hardtop while down. Good compromise!
I also kinda like having a "transparent roof" when the tops are up. Gets me good interior lighting, too.

I love T-Tops, but my stupid BCM won't let me roll down my windows anymore so I haven't been able to use them all that much.
Summer is coming, and I'm gonna need to get that fixed before cruise nights start up again.

If the only thing keeping you from cutting the roof off is that it makes the car "rare," then get started on cutting right away! Seriously, about half of f-bodies came with t-tops, so there are a TON of hardtops out there.

I just put mine back on... T-Tops are great... and I'll be disappointed if we don't see them in the next generation.
The first cool car I remembered as a kid was my Mom's bf's car that had t-tops... had no idea what it was til I seen the pics a couple years ago, and it was a 78 Z28. Been in love with em ever since.
A sidenote... Nissan 300zx's also had T-Tops. This Asian guy that works in the building next to me keeps staring me down when we pass each other, like he wants to race... but he has had the nerve to give his car a single rev at me yet... lol.
